It’s been two weeks since Hurricane Ian devastated Florida. Thousands of homes have been destroyed, leaving many neighborhoods which were home to retirees on fixed incomes and mobile home parks unrecognizable.

The Red Cross is there, providing food, shelter and a shoulder to lean on as many Floridians clean up their neighborhoods and hundreds more remain in shelters. To help people affected by Hurricane Ian, visit redcross.org, call 800-RED CROSS or text the word IAN to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

Can you donate?

Cedar Connell is a tennis-loving high schooler recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the age of 15. Now Cedar is navigating a 3.5 year cancer treatment plan including chemotherapy and regular blood transfusions.

During a national blood shortage, sometimes the blood he needed wasn't always available and doctor's could only give Cedar half of what his athletic, 6'2 body needed.

Now Cedar and his family are raising awareness of the need for blood and is encouraging people to come out and donate blood at a drive in his honor.

October 25 from 1-6PM at Trinity International University in Deerfield.
