🎨 Last week, we took a day trip to Downers Grove! From exploring the downtown shops to lunch and a movie, it was a full day out enjoying everything the town has to offer.

A highlight of the trip was our stop at Board & Brush Downers Grove, where we created custom wood signs and got a chance to be creative while making something to take home. Thank you for having us!

Tomorrow is the Batavia Chamber of Commerce Volunteer Fair! Stop by the Batavia Public Library from 2–6pm to connect with FVSRA and many other local organizations. Learn how you can get involved and make a difference through volunteer opportunities. We hope to see you there!

Be sure to stop by the Batavia Public Library of Illinois between 2-6pm. There will be 40 local non-profits on site waiting to talk with you about how you can volunteer your time and talents. All ages are welcome!

💙 It’s National Volunteer Appreciation Week, and we’re celebrating the incredible people who help make it all happen at FVSRA!

Did you know events like the BBQ & Basket Raffle, FVSRA Swim Meet, Day in the Park, and so many more are made possible because of volunteers? From setting up and running activities to cheering on participants and creating a welcoming environment, our volunteers play a huge role in every experience we offer.

And that’s just a small glimpse into the impact they make. Across programs, events, and behind-the-scenes support, individuals and groups continue to show up for our community in meaningful ways. We are so grateful for every volunteer who gives their time, energy, and heart to support inclusive recreation. You truly make a difference!

If you didn't know, we offer our Resource Library to FVSRA residents at no charge! There are 3 main categories of equipment...
• 📱 Technology: Virtual Reality Headsets, Noise Cancelling Headphones, iPads, and more
• 🫧 Therapeutic & Sensory Items: Body Socks, Platform Swing, Light & Sound Projector, and more
• 🎾 Recreational Items: Sporting equipment for activities such as basketball, bocce, bowling, fishing, floor hockey, golf, snowshoe, softball, tennis, and more

By utilizing our pool of resources at home, individuals will have continued recreational opportunities to build upon social interaction, physical activity, creativity and educational experiences!

🌿 We stepped into a peaceful morning at the Springtime Stroll & Nature Discovery with FVSRA Caregiver Network this past Saturday. Families enjoyed a guided hike with the team at Red Oak Nature Center, followed by time to explore, connect, and take in the beauty of the season. Thank you to everyone who joined us for such a relaxing and meaningful outing!

⛳ Our next FVSRA Caregiver Network event is coming up Sunday, June 7 from 9–11am for Mini Golf Morning at Wheeler Park’s Stone Creek Mini Golf in Geneva. Enjoy a casual round of mini golf, time outdoors, and the chance to connect with other caregivers. The event is FREE with RSVP, which you can complete here: fvsra.org/caregiver-network

The FVSRA Caregiver Network supports caregivers through connection, education, and shared resources. Through social gatherings and events, caregivers can build relationships, share experiences, and feel supported within a welcoming community.

☀️ Last week's Spring Break Mini Camp was a blast! We spent all week enjoying field trips, swimming, crafts, and games. Our youth and teen groups made the most of their time off, having fun, staying active, and making great memories together!
