🐢 During these chilly days, the Daybreak Adult Program crew has been staying busy indoors! Recently, the group visited Hickory Knolls Nature Center in St. Charles, where they learned all about reptiles and got an up-close look at turtles and snakes.

🏔 FVSRA travelers are back from another successful annual trip to Breckenridge, Colorado! Each year, this experience brings time on the slopes, skill-building, shared meals, and meaningful connections. We even had a special birthday celebration on the plane!

We are grateful to work alongside the ski instructors in Colorado who help create a safe, supportive, and empowering environment. Our FVSRA staff also enjoy being on the slopes, assisting with instruction and supporting participants throughout the experience. Enjoy a look at some of the moments captured by our crew. We’re already looking ahead to next year’s Breckenridge adventure! 🎿

Ten years ago, social media was booming, the Cubs were winning the World Series, and at FVSRA, we were focused on building inclusive programs and meaningful connections in our community.

Fast forward to 2026, and we’re celebrating 50 years! A lot has changed since then, but our mission to provide inclusive recreation remains the same. 🌟

🏊 This past Sunday, nearly 148 swimmers from eight organizations came together for the 43rd Annual FVSRA Swim Meet!

The day was filled with strong competition, great sportsmanship, and plenty of fun as swimmers competed in a variety of events throughout the day. Congratulations to all who participated. Your effort, determination, and enthusiasm truly made the day a success!

A special thank you to our partners and team who helped everything run smoothly:
• Vaughan Athletic Center and Josh Barry from Fox Valley Park District for providing the space and support
• Erik Enslen from Oswegoland Park District for his coordination and support
• Remy Rook, Athletics Manager at FVSRA, for her planning, leadership, and hard work behind the scenes

🌟 2026 is here, and so is a big milestone! This year marks 50 years of Fox Valley Special Recreation Association serving our community. Since 1976, FVSRA has provided inclusive recreation opportunities made possible by the dedication of participants, families, staff, volunteers, partners, and supporters.

Throughout the year, we will be sharing throwbacks, spotlights, and stories from 1976 to today to reflect on our history and the people who helped shape it.

💙 Thank you to everyone who has been part of FVSRA over the last 50 years. We look forward to celebrating together for many more years to come!
