✨ Community, Courage, and Gratitude ✨
This morning we came together for our Grits & Gratitude Breakfast to honor the incredible first responders who serve our community every day. 🚓🚑🚒 From warm plates of grits to heartfelt conversations, the room was filled with appreciation and respect for the heroes who put others first. 💙 Thank you to all the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and healthcare professionals who joined us—you inspire us with your dedication and bravery. Together, we shared a meal, stories, and most importantly, gratitude. 🥣🙏

This weekend we had the absolute pleasure of holding our Annual Holiday Bazaar and Craft Fair! With a full house of local vendors, crafters and artisans displaying their handmade wares for all to see, our residents and surrounding community had a grand time together getting some holiday shopping out of the way. 🏡 At Garden Plaza, we're blessed with friendly, sociable residents who go out of their way to make newcomers feel at home. For those with an extra spark of outgoing spirit, we have our Resident Ambassador Program! These volunteers offer orientation tours, accompany newcomers to meals, and serve as a social resource as folks settle in. 😊

Meet Dick Rix, the program's leader! Dick is from Chicago and has lived here for a year and a half. 🗨️ "My kids brought me out here, found the place for me, and everything," Dick said. "I'm glad they did."

Dick likes to keep busy, and not only is he a Resident Ambassador, but he also leads games, including OH Hell! and Spinners. His advice for folks considering senior living is, "The mind needs variety to keep strong, and you have to strengthen your brain. You may get old physically, but you've still got the brain to think about!" 🧠

We're so fortunate to have Dick with us—he's a great friend and an inspiring leader among our residents. Thanks for taking a moment to get to know him and celebrate him with us! 💛

At Century Park, we believe the most meaningful way to show our appreciation for our teams is by standing beside them—working hand in hand to support the incredible service they provide every day.

Service Day is a time when Century Park leadership partners with associates in a selected department at our communities around the country in caring for the residents they serve. Through this act of service, we strengthen our teams and build even stronger relationships with our team members.

Today, our leadership team and sales teams are joining forces with our community partners for a special Sales Service Day dedicated to honoring and supporting local veterans. Together, we’ll be reaching out to veteran groups, attending local events, and inviting veterans to learn more about the supportive environments our communities offer. Please drop off nonperishable food items at your local food bank, or make a monetary donation via their website. Anything you give will help keep pantries and bellies full!

Recommended food items:

• Canned meats (tuna, chicken, etc.)
• Low-sodium canned vegetables
• Low-sodium soups & stews
• Low-sugar breakfast cereal
• Canned fruit
• Peanut butter
• Whole-grain rice, pasta, & oats
• Vegetable oils
• 100% fruit juice
• Bottled water
