DAY 12: SMOOTHIE RECIPES

Smoothies are such a great way to get in a lot of your daily nutrients and protein, PLUS, they are so easy to prep ahead of time. I know people who will prep two weeks worth of smoothies at a time and store in mason jars in the freezer. Place one in the fridge the night before, or on the counter the morning of, and by lunch time it’s all ready for you! Perfect for taking on the go too!! Here are a few of our favorite recipes. Give them a try and let us know what you think!!

PEANUT BUTTER BANANA CRAZE
2 scoops Vanilla Spice Pure Protein Complete (or protein powder of choice)
½ cup non-dairy milk
½ cup plain greek yogurt
2 Tbsp peanut butter*
1 banana
1 Tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional)
*make sure the peanut butter contains nothing other than peanuts and salt.

MINT CHOCOLATE PROTEIN SMOOTHIE
2 scoops Vanilla Spice Pure Protein Complete (or protein powder of choice)
1 cup non-dairy milk
1 drop Peppermint Vitality
1 handful of spinach
1 cup ice

CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRY PROTEIN SMOOTHIE
2 scoops Vanilla Spice Pure Protein Complete (or protein powder of choice)
1 cup non-dairy milk
1 cup strawberries
1 Tbsp honey or maple syrup
1 Tbsp cocoa powder, for added chocolate flavor

DIY MANLY SCRUB + SALVE FOR HANDS + FEET

Here's a great combo DIY for a lovely father's day gift! 😍

MANLY HAND SCRUB
1 c sugar
1/3 cup sweet almond oil
20 drops Lemon (You could adjust for your fave masculine scent!)
Combine all ingredients well and spoon into an 8 oz glass jar.
Add 1T carrier oil to the top to prevent drying out
Scrub dirty, greasy hands with 1-2 T of the sugar scrub.
Rinse well.

WORKING MAN HAND & FOOT SALVE
1/4 c beeswax
1/2 c coconut oil
1/2 c Shea butter
1 tsp. vitamin E oil
10 drops Clove
10 drops Orange

1. Combine beeswax, coconut oil, and shea butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir frequently until melted completely.
2. Pop the melted mixture into the fridge for 5-10 minutes, just until the top begins to form a solid surface. If you forget it and it turns solid, just set it out on the counter until it begins to soften.
3. Remove the mixture from the refrigerator and whisk well, until it begins to fluff up and double in volume.
4. Stir in vitamin E, Clove, and Orange, mixing well until fully incorporated.
5. Transfer the mixture into a jar with a fitted lid.
6. Store your cream in a cool dark place.

To Use:
For cracked, dry hands apply often throughout the day, especially after washing, as that can dry your hands out even more.
You can apply a thick layer of salve to your feet at night, then cover with socks to let it really absorb into your skin.

MEN'S DIY POMADE

A fantastic DIY for Father’s Day!

DIY MEN'S POMADE

Heat until melted
3 TBS Shea Butter
2 TBS Beeswax pellets
Mix in separate bowl
2 TBS Jojoba oil
1 TBS Cornstarch

Add the melted mixture into the bowl with the Jojoba and cornstarch. Add 7 drops each Rosemary and Cedarwood.
Mix with hand mixer.
Add to small container and set in cool, dry place.

You can also easily transform these blends into roller recipes and sprays!

To make a 10mL roller from any recipe: triple the number of drops to make a total of 35-45 total drops, add a carrier of choice (we love V-6 Vegetable Complex) and you're good to go!

To make a 2oz spray from any recipe: double the number of drops to a total of about 25 drops, add a splash of witch hazel and fill with filtered water. Spray on upholstered surfaces, bedding, rugs, anywhere you want to freshen!

Ohhhhh.....our oily community just posted this hair mask recipe! Running to whip it up!

Sometimes, summertime isn't so fun for hair. Luckily, it's nothing a little DIY hair mask can't handle! Warm some coconut oil in the microwave until just melted. Let cool slightly, then add the V6 and essential oils. Apply evenly through hair and leave on for 15-30 minutes before washing hair thoroughly.

I have been using this laundry scent booster for 3 years! It is so nice to know I am using clean ingredients on my family's clothes. Bonus, you can change the scent every time you make it to switch it up! My very favorite is Basil and Lavender or Lemongrass. The possibilities are endless.
