Riverfront Independent Living for Retirees Plum Landing is the place to live for adults 55+.

Enjoy top notch service from our dedicated and friendly staff, newly renovated apartments, and the best food and service around. Located on the banks of the Fox River, Plum Landing residents enjoy great views from every apartment. The building itself is built into the side of a hill, making it almost invisible from Lake St. (Rt. 31), while also making it easily accessible from all directions. We are a nonprofit corporation governed by a local board of directors who are prominent in all areas of local business, many of whom have had family that called Plum Landing home.

Flappers and Fedoras took center stage today as our favorite performers, Matt and Cynthia, whisked us away to the roaring 1920s. With toe-tapping tunes, vintage flair, and a sprinkle of humor and history, they brought the era to life in style. From jazzy rhythms to playful storytelling, their performance was a delightful time-travel treat!

This partnership brings fresh selections and expanded access to our community—and we love seeing familiar faces from the library team each month!

Happy World Teachers Day! Today we celebrate the legacy of teachers everywhere—and especially those who shaped Plum Landing from the very beginning. Our founding mother, Ida Mighell, was not only a dedicated educator but a savvy investor who navigated the 1929 stock market with remarkable foresight. She built this community in honor of her sister, Jessie Mighell, another passionate educator, creating a haven for retired professionals to thrive.

Over the years, many teachers have called Plum Landing home. Their wisdom, warmth, and lifelong commitment to learning continue to inspire us. To all educators past and present: thank you for lighting the way.
