Today for National Recovery Month, 1Voice Recovery Community Organization got to take a moment to show appreciation for our staff, board members and members of the community at our 1Voice Staff Appreciation lunch at Third and Main. As an organization that employs those with lived experience from their own personal mental health or substance use it’s important we take the time to support and recognize each of them during recovery month as well.
During this lunch we were able to honor the two staff who were voted by their peers as 1Voice Peer Professionals of the Year. These two honors went to Neila Rugg and Blair Garrett. We appreciate your commitment and dedication to those in our community!
In addition 1Voice honored Cheyenne Barrows as the 1Voice Recovery Ally for 2025. Your commitment and dedication to the recovery community truky shines.
Lastly we honored a community partner for their commitment to our community and those impacted by mental health and substance use. With this being the first time 1Voice has done this we couldn’t think of anyone more deserving than, One Community One Family. This organization as been instrumental in the growth of 1Voice over the last decade, and also in the growth of support services and resources in our community.
We would like to thank you all and we appreciate everything each of you do for our community!

This morning, 1Voice had the opportunity to set up our booth at East Indiana Treatment Center. We connected with community partners, shared resources, and distributed harm reduction supplies.

Collaborations like these strengthen the recovery community, open doors for new partnerships, and help us continue to meet people where they are. We’re thankful for every chance to network and expand support for those in need.

Exciting news! ⚾💙 1Voice is teaming up with the Cincinnati Reds this weekend for a special event where a portion of the proceeds will go directly toward supporting individuals in recovery.

This partnership is more than just about baseball, it’s about hope, community, and second chances. Every ticket purchased helps us continue our mission of giving those in recovery the resources and support they need to rebuild their lives.

Come out, enjoy the game with us this weekend, and know that you’re making a difference. Together, we can change lives 1voice at a time.

‼️‼️Exciting Announcement ‼️‼️

We are honored to share that our recovery home will now carry a name that holds deep meaning and love within our community. In memory of Abbi Lefevers, we are naming our women’s recovery home:

“Abbi’s Place”

Abbi’s light, strength, and compassion touched so many lives, and this home will continue her legacy of healing, growth, and second chances. It’s our hope that every woman who walks through these doors feels that same spark that Abbi brought to our recovery community and to her friends.

This isn’t just a name it’s a promise to keep Abbi’s memory alive by supporting one another and walking this journey of recovery together.

We invite you to join us in celebrating the opening of Abbi’s Place at our open house. We will post that date as soon as we have more information.

Yesterday, 1Voice had the honor in being present for the signing of Indiana Bill HEA 1385. This bill now signed into law will reduce the legal barriers for Certified Peer Support Professionals working in various health care settings. 1Voice will continue in ongoing advocacy and support for the advancement of the peer support profession.
Special thanks to Indiana House Representative Garrett Bascom for authoring this bill and supporting these efforts at the state level!
