We are heartbroken by the loss of Senator Faith Winter. Her passing leaves an enormous void in Colorado and in the physical therapy community she fought so hard to support. Faith wasn’t just a vote for PT. She was a force. She ran the PT Compact bill that expanded mobility for Colorado providers, helped secure dry needling authority, and led the CDLE credentialing reforms that modernized the way Colorado regulates our profession.
When we needed a partner who understood why PT access matters, she showed up prepared, relentless, and strategic.
Her advocacy came from a deeply personal place. Faith often shared that physical therapy helped her walk as a child. She carried that experience with her into every policy conversation and every bill she championed. It shaped how she governed and why she pushed for a system that works better for patients and the people who care for them.
Colorado is better because of her. APTA Colorado is better because of her. PT, PTAs, and students across the state will continue to feel the impact of her leadership for years to come.
We extend our condolences to her family, her colleagues, and the communities she lifted throughout herhttps://loom.ly/ge2wwSo
