🚨 EXTREME COLD WARNING: The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Cold Watch through noon today.

❗️Dangerously cold temperatures will bring wind chills as low as -35. These frigid temperatures can cause frostbite on exposed skin in under 10 minutes.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

⚠️ Frostbite and hypothermia can occur quickly, if precautions are not taken.

⚠️Limit your time outside.

⚠️Wear hats and gloves - and bundle up if you must go outside.

⚠️Keep pets inside and make quick trips outside when necessary.

⚠️Check on others, especially elderly and disabled relatives, friends, and neighbors.

⚠️ The Phillips Park Zoo is closed today, to keep heated animal exhibits safe and warm.

⚠️ The temporary overnight warming center, located at 712 S. River Street, is currently open until 1 P.M. today, and will open again tonight at 7 P.M.
