VotER 🏥
What can you do?
1. Forward this message to share supportive, clear, and accurate information.
2. Be mindful of speculative claims about the winners of races. Attempting to name a winner early creates distrust if the count changes once more votes are tallied.
3. Reassure family or friends who feel unnerved about the timeline. It takes time to count every vote, including active military, overseas, and emergency ballots from hospitalized patients.
4. Praise the extensive, round-the-clock efforts of elections workers. From poll workers to elected officials, many of our neighbors are pulling long hours to ensure every voice is heard. They have been working for months to vet every voter’s eligibility, print ballots, and ensure our election processes are accessible and transparent.
5. Do not repeat or share disinformation. Engaging with disinformation on social media — even if your intent is to debunk it — simply reinforces false or misleading statements. If someone shares disinformation directly with you in a conversation or group chat, kindly address it without repeating the false claim.
Thank you for helping hold the civic space to ensure every voice is heard in this election. From patients voting from their hospital beds to health professionals serving abroad in the military — we need to give state elections leaders the patience and space to count every vote.
Together, we can create a healthier democracy,
