Our Reader’s Theater group had a lively month diving into two very different skits that kept everyone entertained from start to finish. An Introduction to Tokyo let us explore the vibrant energy of the city through character voices, fun facts, and plenty of expressive storytelling, while The Shopping Cart Marauder brought out our comedic side with its playful mischief and over the top dramatics. Watching everyone step into their roles — some bold, some bashful, all enthusiastic — reminded us why this activity is such a highlight each month.

Sydney from Parker Arts always brings such great energy to our monthly craft sessions, and this month was no exception — she showed up with another fun, hands on project that had everyone chatting, creating, and comparing masterpieces. After the crafting wrapped up, we kept the good vibes going with a lively round of Left, Right, Center, complete with laughter, friendly competition, and a few dramatic dice rolls that had the whole room cheering. It’s become one of those traditions we look forward to each month, thanks to Sydney’s creativity and the joy that comes from doing something together.

Did we ever have fun with this painting class — it was the kind of creative chaos that leaves everyone smiling. Deb from Doodles and Hues showed up with the cutest truck door hangers, and before long we were completely absorbed in painting every little piece, comparing colors, swapping ideas, and admiring how each “truck” took on its own personality. The best part is knowing this is just the beginning, because Deb has so many more designs for our trucks, and we’re already excited to add them in the future.

At Parkside Village, the My Favorite Things Social is always a heartwarming glimpse into the stories and treasures that shape each resident’s life. During one recent gathering, Carolyn shared a truly remarkable piece of her family history: a beautifully crafted chest her mother brought back to Lincoln, Nebraska after a trip to California in 1940. She had brought home two—one for each of her daughters—and Carolyn’s has become a cherished keepsake. Tucked inside, she lovingly stores a special doll, adding another layer of meaning to an already extraordinary heirloom. Moments like these turn the social into more than just an activity; they become a celebration of memories, heritage, and the joy of sharing what matters most.

Bucket golf turned into an indoor adventure was honestly the kind of chaotic fun that makes a simple idea feel like a full blown event. We turned Main Street obstacles into “terrain,” argued over the best trick shot angles, and celebrated every ridiculous bounce like it was a championship win. There was something hilarious about watching everyone get way too competitive over a ball, a club, and a few buckets, but that’s what made it great — the mix of creativity, laughter, and pure, goofy energy.

The Easter Brunch at Parkside Village was a joyful, community filled celebration, with residents and guests gathering to share great food, warm conversation, and a sense of togetherness. The highlight of the event was the stunning Bunny ice carving created by our talented Chef Jesus — a shimmering centerpiece that captured everyone’s attention and became the most photographed moment of the day. The combination of delicious dishes, lively energy, and Chef Jesus’s artistry made the brunch feel truly special, reminding everyone why shared traditions matter so much in a place like Parkside Village.

Residents had a blast at our Parkside Village Easter Egg Hunt! We hid candy-filled eggs all throughout Main Street, the Theater, the Lounge, the Fitness Center, and more. The fun didn’t stop there — every resident also received a special egg with a lottery ticket delivered right to their porch. A huge thank you to our anonymous Easter Rabbits for spreading so much joy and surprise throughout the community. You made the day unforgettable.
