We had such a delightful time thanks to the marvelous Sydney from Parker Arts, who once again brought us a super craft that sparked creativity and joy! Her energy and talent made the experience extra special as we painted and decorated our pumpkins with vibrant colors and imaginative designs. It was a wonderful afternoon filled with laughter, artistic flair, and festive fun — we’re so grateful for Sydney’s continued magic and inspiration!

Our Slice of Murder Mystery Banquet Dinner was an unforgettable evening filled with laughter, suspense, and delicious cuisine. Chef Jesus wowed everyone with a gourmet menu featuring Apple and Honey Smoked Salmon, Filet Mignon & Lobster Tail drizzled with Bordelaise Sauce, Galette Potatoes, and Baby Carrots—all topped off with a decadent Peach Cheesecake. Bloody Marys added a festive touch to the night as staff and residents took the stage in a hilariously entertaining whodunit performance. The room buzzed with excitement as clues unraveled, and in a twist ending that had everyone gasping, we discovered the real killer was none other than Boris!

Myrna cherishes two Savonarola chairs, originating from 2000 BC Italy. These chairs, used by Popes and religious figures, were acquired by Myrna and her husband in the 1970s while in Italy. The chairs are historically significant and personally meaningful. Their unique design features detachable backrests and a folding frame, reflecting ancient practicality and elegance. These chairs blend history, faith, and personal experience, making them prized possessions. Myrna shared these remarkable chairs at one of our My Favorite Things Socials.

Executive Chef Jesus treated everyone to a delicious culinary demonstration that began with elegant crostini appetizers topped with homemade chutney, drizzled with a raspberry sauce, and creamy Boursin cheese. The second course featured a beautifully crafted salad of smoked salmon wrapped around a cheese center, served on a fresh bed of arugula. For the main course, guests were delighted with a perfectly cooked ribeye steak, finished with a rich garlic and herb butter that melted over the top. Both residents and guests were thrilled with the flavors, presentation, and overall dining experience.

We always look forward to Sydney from the Parker Arts Center bringing us a new craft each month, and this time was extra special. The ladies had a wonderful time painting trinket boxes and adding little bees in honor of the Parker Honey Festival. The creativity and laughter filled the room as each box became a one-of-a-kind treasure, and everyone enjoyed celebrating both art and community with a sweet nod to the festival’s theme.
