We are proud to partner with Mercy Medical Center to strengthen the safety of our community through the generous donation of seven Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).

These life-saving devices will be placed throughout our district, expanding access to critical care when every second counts. AEDs will be installed at Township of Sugar Grove , Village Bible Church - Sugar Grove Campus , and Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, with two placed at the Sugar Grove Park District. An additional unit will be available in our training room to ensure coverage when crews are out on calls and the space is in use.

In the spirit of regional collaboration, one AED will also be provided to Big Rock Fire Department for placement in their command vehicle—helping extend this life-saving impact beyond our borders.

This donation is more than equipment—it’s an investment in the health, safety, and resilience of our entire community.

Mercy Medical Center is proud to donate seven new, state‑of‑the‑art Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to the Sugar Grove Fire Protection District.

These advanced AEDs provide step‑by‑step audible guidance and clear visual instructions, helping first responders act quickly and confidently in life‑saving situations. Once paramedics arrive, the devices can connect directly to cardiac monitors, ensuring critical patient data is captured and shared seamlessly.

We’re grateful to Fire Chief Brendan Moran, area fire chiefs, and community leaders who joined us for this meaningful moment—and proud to support the dedicated first responders who serve and protect.

Mercy Medical Center – Aurora continues to demonstrate leadership in quality and community health.

Over the past year, the hospital was named to the Gold Level Honor Roll for Acute Care Antimicrobial Stewardship by the Illinois Department of Public Health, earned “A” grades on the Lown Institute Hospitals Index for Social Responsibility, Clinical Outcomes, and Health Equity, and was recognized by Healthgrades for clinical excellence and quality care.

Mercy also welcomed 82 participants to its annual Wellness 12-Week Challenge, a community initiative focused on heart health, weight loss, and healthy lifestyle changes through partnerships with churches across the Fox Valley Network.
