Our very own Stewy got engaged on 11/11/25! We are so happy for him and his journey. Here’s what he has to say about recovery:
Recovery changed everything.
There were moments in my life where I came closer to death than I ever want to admit. Moments where I genuinely accepted the idea that I would die alone. Addiction stripped me down to nothing—my hope, my future, my sense of worth.
Recovery wasn’t easy. It was uncomfortable. It was painful. It forced me to face myself in ways I spent years running from. But it also made me who I am today.
Through recovery, I learned how to live. How to show up. How to believe that my life actually mattered.
Because of the opportunity that Hazelbrook Sober Living gave me—an opportunity I’ll forever be grateful for—I didn’t just find stability… I found love.
I found the love of my life, Kris Noel.
And on 11.11.25, I asked her to marry me—because she is my wish, my dream, and proof that life can give you more than you ever thought possible.
Recovery didn’t just save my life.
It gave me a future I never believed I deserved.
