🇺🇸 Honoring VJ Day and Our Heroes 🇺🇸

Today, on Victory over Japan (VJ) Day, we reflect on a pivotal moment in history—August 15, 1945, when Japan’s surrender marked the end of World War II after nearly six years of global conflict.

At Presbyterian Village, we are deeply honored to recognize two of our very own residents who served in WWII. These remarkable gentlemen represent the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of an entire generation.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to them—and to all veterans and active-duty service members—for their unwavering dedication to our country.

Our residents had a llama-zing time celebrating Cinco de Mayo today! 🇲🇽🌞 With festive music, colorful decorations, and some extra special guests (yes, real llamas!), the day was full of joy, laughter, and unforgettable photo ops. 🪅📸

Since 2003, Presbyterian Village Austell's Landscape Committee has managed and planted more than 90 Memorial and Honor Trees on our scenic wooded campus. The committee also has created a beautifully illustrated map showing the location of all the trees and a key that includes donation and dedication information as well as common and botanical names. A group of residents from Presbyterian Village Austell recently toured Georgia Tech's Kendeda Building for Innovative Sustainable Design. The building is considered regenerative because it gives back more than it takes from the environment while also supporting the health and happiness of its occupants. The Kendeda building is the first building in Georgia and the 28th building in the world to earn the Living Building certification — the world’s most ambitious and holistic green building achievement sponsored by Living Future. A group of residents from Presbyterian Village Austell recently enjoyed an outing to Marietta Melt Yard — a retro-themed, family-friendly restaurant, bar and arcade. They enjoyed the lively atmosphere, vintage decor, and a menu filled with indulgent favorites. Did they order the fried pimento cheese balls with bacon jam, the Mini Mountain, the Barbie-Q or something a little lighter? Were fried Oreos involved? We won't give that away. Let's just say a great time was had by all!
