Presbyterian Village Cobb is a 60-acre Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary with a diverse population of birds and trees. To help identify the trees, download our Tree Guide which shows the location of 22 different species along Virgil’s Nature Trail. Created through the dedication and vision of residents, the Nature Trail winds through woods and across creeks, offering opportunities for birdwatching and connecting with nature.

Today the trail is managed by Peter Cobb, a resident and nephew of Reverend Virgil Sexton, who started it all back in 1997. 🇺🇸 Honoring VJ Day and Our Heroes 🇺🇸

Today, on Victory over Japan (VJ) Day, we reflect on a pivotal moment in history—August 15, 1945, when Japan’s surrender marked the end of World War II after nearly six years of global conflict.

At Presbyterian Village, we are deeply honored to recognize two of our very own residents who served in WWII. These remarkable gentlemen represent the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of an entire generation.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to them—and to all veterans and active-duty service members—for their unwavering dedication to our country.

Since 2003, Presbyterian Village Austell's Landscape Committee has managed and planted more than 90 Memorial and Honor Trees on our scenic wooded campus. The committee also has created a beautifully illustrated map showing the location of all the trees and a key that includes donation and dedication information as well as common and botanical names.
