Thomas Drugs was established in Austell, GA in 1975 serving the tri-county areas of Cobb, Douglas, and Paulding. Over 40 years later, we still uphold the values of a local, hometown pharmacy. We strive to provide every customer with fast and friendly service, with personal attention to any specific needs they may have. We accept almost all forms of insurance, and our cash prices are competitive -

usually being cheaper than that of our chain competitors. At Thomas Drugs, we also offer bubble packing along with MARs for nursing and group home facilities. We are an authorized agent for Check Free Pay and offer same day credit for AT&T, Scana and several other utilities. We are also an Amazon Smart Hub. You can order an item on Amazon and have it delivered here for you to pick up.

Thomas Drugs closed it's doors for the final time on 3/11/26. Let me tell you about your prescriptions, and then I will elaborate about the why a little later.

All of our files were bought by Walgreens and sent to the Thornton Rd location. If you would prefer to not use Walgreens, you can have your pharmacy of choice call them to have the prescriptions transferred. Any prescription which had been paid for online, and any owed tablets, have been mailed to your home.

We solidified the sale last week and could not say anything until our final day, and we feel horrible that we had to be secretive. We truly hope that our decades of service will make up for the last few days. I would have loved to handle this better, but there really is no good/easy way to do this.

None of us are sick. We aren't in any trouble. We just all had gotten to the point where it was time for a change. We understand that people are shocked and inconvenienced. We know that almost everyone in Austell has a Thomas Drugs memory. It was just time.

A quick note about any prescriptions you have with us:
Any prescription on file with us has been transferred to the Walgreens on Thornton Rd.
Any prescription that has been filled and paid for online will be mailed tomorrow. We have tried to contact everyone that has a prescription filled with us.
Any owed tablets will be delivered or mailed tomorrow as well.

We apologize to everyone that we could not say anything until today. It has been beyond difficult to not tell our friends that this is happening. We hope that our decades of service will excuse the last few days. There is just no easy way to do this.
