🔆 “Esteemable actions build self-esteem” 🔆
📌 This mantra is useful for anyone trying to make changes in their lives, trying to challenge discomfort, or taking the next right step.
As a therapist, I know that therapy can sometimes be challenging, especially when we're trying to confront difficult emotions and make different choices. It's normal to feel overwhelmed or even paralyzed by the idea of doing something new or different, especially if we're trying to break an established pattern of behavior.
🧠 The thing is, when we're in the middle of all these intense emotions, our brain is unable to process complex thoughts, so we need a simple yet powerful reminder to stay on track. Also, our brain prefers to make the choice it’s always made rather than do something new, even if the new action is better for us.
That's why I love the quote, "Esteemable actions build self-esteem." It's a little mantra that can help remind us to choose the action that may seem uncomfortable or challenging at first but that ultimately helps us grow and build our self-confidence. So, the next time you're feeling stuck or overwhelmed, try to use this quote to help you push closer toward your goal.
