Doula services include fostering of the connection to body, yoni, and self through birth education, somatic embodiment exercises, and touch practices. Pregnancy is a beautiful opportunity for growth, a time of metamorphosis requiring integration of the body, mind and self. In a time of so much change, we can also find safety in the constancy and presence the body is always ready to provide. Pregna
ncy is a unique moment in women’s lives where convergence and integration between body and mind is essential and fundamental, where a deep awareness and connection to the body, yoni and self bring safety, vitality and confidence. Our capacity to hold the power of creating life needs to be supported, massaged and stretched during the months leading up to birth; remolded and held in the tenderness of the postpartum. Our bodies are taxed to their maximum capacity. Our minds are similarly stretched with the expectation that we suddenly understand bouts of medical jargon, and our sense of self takes on a new meaning as another body grows and develops within our own. In the immensity of this rite of passage I am here as a sister, educator, and compassionate witness. In the months leading up to your birth we will foster your relationship to your body, your yoni and your self through a somatic and embodied journey of birth preparation, and in the postpartum period we will reacquaint you to your returned self, yoni, and body after the passage of labor. We will create a holistic support structure for your birth and postpartum period through embodiment practices, meditation, and touch through hands-on sessions. This will include:
• Birth education
• Development of community and support network
• Repairing the emotional relationship to your pelvis before birth
• Boundary setting and practices
• Birth and postpartum intention setting
• Learning the anatomy and felt sense of your yoni
• Home practices for yoni connection and development of your eroticism
• Connecting to your sexuality and creative energy
• Reacquainting you to your yoni and sexuality after labor
• Intimacy exercises with self and partner
• Reacquainting you and your partner to intimacy after birth
About me:
I have been trained as a doula under Continuum Doulas, a birth support scheme that is integrative and comprehensive, creating the continuity of care that is challenging to achieve when solely supported by a medical team. My way of doulaing brings birth back to community and women by creating a holistic network of support for you. I provide continuous doula support throughout your pregnancy and into the postpartum period typically including at least six antenatal sessions, attendance of the birth and at least six postnatal sessions. I am also a certified sexological bodyworker under the Association of Certified Sexological Bodyworkers (ACSB). This certification enables me to offer hands-on bodywork, including genital touch, to my clients when appropriate to the intention of the session. You can learn more about sexological bodywork from my sister page: https://www.facebook.com/bodycompass.me. Why people work with me:
• To receive support during your labor such as massage, food and water, setting the space, and helping you to achieve the labor that you want
• To devise a birth and postpartum plan
• If you already have an embodiment practice and want to reinforce it before birth
• If sexuality and your yoni make you nervous and uncomfortable
• If you feel nervous about being naked during your labor
• If you notice upregulation in your body and nervousness when you think about your future birth
• To create a more comfortable relationship with your sexuality in preparation for birth
• To learn to use the sex hormones as a pain-relief method for labor
• To understand the labor process
• To prepare your body for the postpartum period
• To prepare your partner for birth, and to make sure your visions for your birth are aligned
• To aid in connection to your partner during your pregnancy and after the birth- a rediscovery of intimacy with your partner
• Support in the coming months after birth to reorient yourself to your new body and yoni
• Scar tissue remediation after birth
• Reconnection to your sexuality and partner after birth
• And much more…
