Human Rights Day is observed every year on December 10th to celebrate the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This year’s theme is Equality, as the principles of equality and non-discrimination are at the heart of human rights. Seek Institute continues to strive to make mental health equity a reality today and every day. Learn more about our mission and programs at www.seekinstitute.org

On behalf of the team at Seek Institute, we would like to wish you and your loved ones a Happy Thanksgiving. We are so grateful to have received the John & Kitty Holman Award at the 2021 NAMI Central Texas Annual Meeting, which recognizes organizations that provide safe and supportive environments for those impacted by mental illness. Thank you for this honor!
What is GIVING TUESDAY? Since 2012, Giving Tuesday has taken place the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. On this day, people around the world are encouraged to give, collaborate, or celebrate generosity. YOU, yes YOU, can participate by sharing kindness with your neighbors, volunteering virtually or sharing your talents, giving your voice to a cause that matters to you, and many other ways.
This year, Seek Institute would like to invite you to think about the work we do in Central Texas and consider donating to our organization. Your generosity can reach many individuals in need of mental health resources. To learn more about the work we do, visit our page at seekinstitute.org.

Seek Institute is exploring the role of technology as a means of supporting mental health equity and learning. To kick off our new initiative, we have donated a Nintendo Switch lite, as well as a game teaching STEM principles to CASA of Travis County (a children’s advocacy organization we love and support). Stay tuned for updates on this initiative!

Seek Institute wants to eliminate obstacles and make mental health care a right, not a privilege. But we need your help. Being underinsured or uninsured, living in a rural area with few resources or an area that has been ignored due to social injustices – there are too many reasons why people in our community cannot access mental health services. With your help, we can work to ensure that no one will be turned away from receiving restorative, curative, and at many times, life-saving mental health care. Please consider a donation to Seek Institute today.
