These amazing plants are adapted to their environment.

They know exactly when to bloom, and when to go dormant.

Mostly they survive without much interference from us.

In fact, the kind of interference we tend to offer, often makes things worse.

We all understand this.

So why would we believe that our bodies are any different?

We have an innate intelligence that knows exactly what we need at every minute.

How much are you willing to trust that?

How much are you willing to support that wisdom — rather than suppress it?

To the degree that you can identify, trust and support your innate intelligence — to that degree you will heal.

xoxo

Let me know in the comments if you want to join, and I'll send more details soon!

Hey, I know that this is a busy time of year. But how about an hour for yourself, to come into a better relationship with your emotional state?

Homeopathy is about remedies, yes. And it's also about how we think about ourselves and our "ailments."

PS. I kinda like that word, ailment. It says to me that we are suffering. Yes -- and. And it connotes something temporary. Ailments come and go. Whatever is ailing us, we can move through it. That's what this is all about. 🧡

We talk a lot about what we put into our bodies, but how about what we put our bodies into?

Our external environment is as important as our internal environment.

Where you live, can you see the stars?

When you go outside, does it feel refreshing and nourishing to breathe the air?

How about the people you run into on a daily basis? Not your friends, but your local community. The people you see at the grocery store, the gas station, or your favorite restaurant. Do they know who you are? Do they say hello? Would they notice if you weren’t showing up anymore?

Growing up in a small town in Indiana, I couldn’t wait to get away. Now, I come back every summer and winter, and I can’t wait to visit.

I can’t wait to see the stars, breathe the air, and run into people I know at the grocery store.

This is my no means to idealize small town life, which has its own set of problems.

But the pace of life is slower, people of all political persuasions know and interact with each other, and the natural environment feels, well, *natural.*

I’m happy to be here for the holidays. 🧡

What is your idea of a “healthy“ external environment?

How important is your diet to your health? Hot take: maybe not as important as you think.

What you eat is important, yes, but what is more important is:

(1) whether you are able to use the nutrients in your food, and

(2) whether you are able to eat a variety of foods easily, without having a big inflammatory response.

The hallmark of health from a homeopathic perspective is freedom, and flexibility.

I’m not saying that you should be able to eat junk and be healthy.

But what I am saying is that if you are eating a basically good diet of whole foods, and you are still sick — or, if you have to eat a very strict extreme kind of diet in order to avoid being sick — there is a deeper issue.

And that is where homeopathy comes in…

The correct homeopathic remedy will support your organism to balance itself, creating the ability for you to get what you need from the food that you eat, without creating a lot of inflammation in the system.

Sometimes a homeopathic remedy is all it takes.

Sometimes it takes a combination of a remedy and a strict diet — but the idea is, the strict diet is temporary, just as the remedy is.

If you are not creating more freedom and flexibility in your system, it’s just a Band-Aid, whether it’s a diet or a pharmaceutical.

My youngest son turns 9 today.

At his birthday party on Sunday, I heard from his best friend’s mom that he has been spreading the word about homeopathy…apparently he was answering all her questions 😃

When I was his age I didn’t have a clue what homeopathy was.

I had chronic congestion, probably from heavy duty antibiotics I received for two bouts with pneumonia.

Later I developed allergies, which were suppressed with medication and allergy shots.

When the allergies improved, I developed auto-immunity.

My parents were total hippies who grew their own vegetables and ordered natural foods through a bona-fide food coop.

This did not save me from conventional medicine. They just didn’t have the information.

Today I feel so fortunate to have access to different information.

This information has allowed me to raise kids who rarely even need homeopathy when they are sick, and have only needed one round of antibiotics between the three of them, in 42 total years of life. And, if I knew then everything I know now, I’m certain I could have prevented that round.

This is what is possible, when we understand how the body works, and how to support it when it needs help.

I am so glad my kids are starting their life differently from me.

And, it just warms the cockles of my heart to hear that even my grade-schooler knows enough about this powerful healing system to share with others.

What questions do you have about homeopathy? I’ll ask my newly nine-year-old for you 😉

How do you tend your garden? About the same time that I got interested in homeopathy, I also got very interested in permaculture.

When we use permaculture principles in the garden, we are looking at the strengths and weaknesses of each plant, vis-à-vis its environment, and we choose plants that will thrive in both the macro and microclimates that they are a part of. We support their natural tendencies, and therefore, we create a mini ecosystem that is strong and largely self-sufficient.

When we use homeopathy to tend our inner garden, we are doing the same.

We are allowing our own strengths and natural tendencies to express themselves and support us in our healing and growth.

Just as each plant needs something a little bit different, so does each person. What works for one person, issue, and circumstance, may not work for another.

I would never try to grow a cactus outside in Massachusetts.

That would be absurd.

Yet isn’t giving the same medication to every person who has a particular issue, without regard for their individual tendencies or circumstances, the exact same absurdity?

This is exactly what conventional medicine does.

And this is why, even if you feel better for a little while, you do not, in general, experience an overall improvement in health with pharmaceuticals.

What’s good for nature in general, is good for us…

Because we ARE nature 😊🧡
