Hi team, I wanted to share a bit about myself with the fresher community here. I’m Miranda Nadeau, PhD (she/her), and I’m a Licensed Psychologist living in Austin, Texas. I was born in the Bay Area, California but grew up in Taiwan 🇹🇼, Hong Kong 🇭🇰, and especially San Antonio, TX, a short jaunt from where I am now.
🌈 I’m passionate about crafting a full, vibrant life worth celebrating & sharing. I do so with the help of my spouse, my framily of cross-country comrades, my communities (LGBTQ+ 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️, AAPI 💛, and therapists too), and the beloved clients I get to work with.
🧠 I was formerly educated at the University of Texas (PhD, MA), Rice University (BA), and several other institutions along the way. Now I’m on an unlearning mission as I seek to diversify my sources, critically examine the power structures around us, and decolonize the work of therapy.
👩🏻💻 With our worlds all online, I opened up a series of discussion groups for multiracial folx pursuing anti-racist practice: a platform for us to connect and help each other heal & advocate for social justice. I’m still offering these non-therapy groups to the mixed race community.
🏕 Offline, I can be found dancing to whatever’s playing, crafting, having a friend date, journaling, or playing strategic board games with my wife. Dessert/sweets are my kryptonite.
🫂 I’m so glad we crossed paths! Instagram has been a fun way to connect with new friends while sharing the broad themes that inform my work, all in a space I navigate as a human being as well as a mental health professional.
🖼 Here’s a photo of me on my birthday, during the pandemic, determined to celebrate.
