Austin Child Guidance Center

Austin Child Guidance Center (ACGC) is a nonprofit that provides accessible, high-quality mental health services to children and their families to empower them to thrive in childhood and beyond.

We provide a variety of mental health services to support children and their families all across Central Texas. They include Individual and Family Therapy, Group Therapy, Psychological Assessments, and Caregiver Workshops. Our clinical services are offered in English and Spanish and provided both in-person and via tele-therapy.

As part of our effort to serve all families, especially those with financial needs, ACGC offers a sliding fee scale. We consider circumstances such as household income and family size and regular/standard living expenses to calculate the percentage of service fees qualified clients will be responsible for paying.

ACGC offers FREE therapy services for victims of crimes. We are also offering FREE support for children and families impacted by the July 4th Central Texas floods.

Grateful for another meaningful luncheon highlighting the impact of ACGC’s Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Project 💚

From learning about IEC’s work with young children and caregivers, to hearing powerful stories from our partners at Open Door Preschool, the afternoon was a beautiful reminder of what’s possible when our community comes together for kids.

Happy Thanksgiving🧡!
ACGC will be closed on November 27th and 28th, 2025, as we take time to reflect with gratitude and spend the holiday with loved ones. We are thankful for our community and for everyone who supports children’s mental health and well-being throughout the year.

We will resume normal service hours on Monday, December 1st, 2025.

Good news! Our psychological assessment referrals are open, and we now serve clients up to age 26 🌟

We are currently scheduling about 3 months out, and those who were previously on the waitlist will be first in line.

If you think your child, teen, or young adult could benefit from an evaluation, you can now submit a self-referral or talk with your pediatrician/primary care provider to send one in.

A November full of events! 🍂 Over the weekend, ACGC attended Perez Elementary’s 2nd Annual Thankful Together Fall Festival and Austin Energy’s Community Connections Resource Fair. Thank you for allowing us to share mental health resources, tips for supporting kids, and information about our services with your families.
