Also yes, that is a NEW booking system! It has a waist feature if there isn't a time available that you see and will notify you when openings happen. Please let me know if I haven't programmed the robots 🤖 correctly and there are glitches.
It will take me (Nicole) a couple weeks to transition over to the new system completely but you can book with Ainge there. He is taking new clients! Nicole clients - you'll receive a welcome email from the new system (Jane) when I'm transitioned over.
Apologies in advance for the dust / mess / double booking situation as we add Ainge to the schedule and transition off the old one but I think you'll find that this new system is much more intuitive and user friendly!
Could not be more excited to work with Ainge. He is truly the best mix of kind, competent and nerdy when it comes to looking into solutions for you.

🌬️ Have you too been a victim to Wind aka allergies this week?
If you have a fever, stay away from people and keep each other safe!!
Itchy eyes? Probably allergies rolling in with the wind.
Gua Sha helps vent heat and expel the outside from your insides. To keep it out, cover your neck with a cute lil scarf or bandana, drink your immunity teas (ginger, always a good one in winter!), dry your hair after showering and try not to over-work yourself. You'll be more susceptible to both allergies and cold if you're exhausted .
🐻 Speaking of rest, I'm going into my annual winter hibernation starting midday Tuesday 12/23! I'll return on 1/2. Second slide if you want a very cute bear picture.

🍁 We're inching towards fall weather here in Austin. Next week is Thanksgiving! Will you be out of town? Do you have an appointment? That probably means you should *reschedule it*
🙏 My policy is 24 hours notice but really 48 hours is appreciated so that another person can grab that appointment if they need it. It helps keep the clinic alive and rent paid.

😅 Please don't text the reminder text message! I know it's confusing but that is autogenerated and a robot so you'll be texting into the void 🤖🌌.
😔 Anything less than 24 hours notice means you pay for the session. That sucks. I hate doing that. Are you sick? Please don't come in, that fee is waived. Are you *always* sick or did your fifth grandmother die? We might have to have a chat.
🥲 Have a lovely fall break to those with time off. We have some exciting things happening here including using the rooms on Wednesday starting in December! They provide sliding scale acupuncture for oncology patients ❤️.

Introducing Ainge! I will be out for a couple days at the end of October and Ainge was kind enough to fill in for me. We've both studied together, trained together and volunteered at community events today so you are in excellent, kind and knowledgeable hands!

Ainge (pronounced “Angle”) holds a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from AOMA, located in Austin, Texas. His expertise lies in pain management, internal medicine, women’s health, mental health, facial paralysis, and stroke recovery. Ainge has extensive experience working in private clinics, community clinics, and in-house settings.

In his personal life, Ainge enjoys gardening, cultivating native plants, and attracting butterflies and pollinators to his yard. This passion stems from his training in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine, which has instilled in him a deep appreciation for the natural world and its principles.

Beyond his clinical practice, Ainge actively contributes to the community like an angle. He supports veterans and their families through the Healing Warriors Program in Colorado, providing acupuncture and manual therapy to the medical staff of the local ICU and ER during the COVID pandemic. Additionally, he collaborates with the PEACE Collective to support immigrants and underserved communities.

Hello sweet ones!
1 - Check out this updated headshot that was kind enough to snap of me in April 🥲✨.
2 - This May marks 5 years in business and, wow. I did not know what I signed up for and cannot believe I started a practice during COVID and still here 5 years later. I continue to feel uplifted by your support.
3 - Lots has happened since then. Isabel and I had to chaotically move from our first clinic space with only 45 days. Dr. Jazmine Collins took us in at our current location and let us take over her lease when she moved to Kyle. I've been able to start taking insurance, which has always been an access-to-TCM goal of mine. 
4 - Having to continue business as usual on meta feels increasingly absurd. It doesn't serve the main populations I serve (q***r folks! women! those who are often targeted by hate speech!) and actively de-prioritizes content that is helpful for organizing. I'm torn on this because it's hard to know how to best get updates to y'all, but I'm going to try this experiment. **Beginning June 1st you will no longer be able to get updates here**, but I won't delete my IG so resources will still be available if you've bookmarked anything.
5 - Join me on BlueSky (.bsky.social) or you guys can also sign up for my newsletter (that I send out 4-6x a year at this point) at https://bit.ly/4jezzTE. BlueSky is not perfect and it's a much smaller community right now, but the only way to grow a more ethical space is to join and get your friends to! Lots of resources are still available for organizing + such on IG and I'll miss those but hoping others make the move, too.

Here's a story for you. Every time one of y'all books a cosmetic acupuncture appointment or microneedling and I meet you, I am always like "you are perfect already, how do we even make this face look more perfect??". But I get it. You knew yourself five, 10, 15 years ago, and maybe you miss the texture, collagen and floofy-ness that you used to have.  
Maybe you are a thinker and a forehead scruncher and that turns into muscle tension/wrinkles/pain in the forehead. 
Guys. These are A's before + progress pictures (shared with consent as always). We're not even done with her series of 10! These pictures were taken at the end of the 1st appointment and at the end of the 6th appointment. A full series of cosmetic acupuncture is typically 10 sessions.
We're going to ignore a few things that I did wrong. 1) we're going to ignore my fingers in the lense of the camera in one of these 🙈 2) I know, the lighting is different (different room) which is not best practice for before/afters.
What I DO want to draw your attention to are these spots. She wanted to address the asymmetry in nasolabial grooves on the left and right sides and the frown lines between her eyes (often called 11s) between her browns.
In cosmetic acupuncture sessions, I do use facial acupuncture to help skin look more vibrant, and help relax wrinkles. I also add in facial manipulation with either gua sha, cupping, tuina, or bo jin, as well as opening up the neck and shoulder muscles with cups. 
We also address any underlying constitutional things you may have going on (allergies, menstrual health, digestion, stress resiliency and more).
