Getting close to Christmas, and this Saturday December 20th will be my last market at the Eden East Farmstand. We’ll be dishing out herbs and cold brew since it’s going to be a warm Yuletide.

I love these herbal gift baskets for your last minute gifting needs- they come with a handmade card and gift tag, blank and ready for you to customize. All the gift materials are made from upcycled and thrifted stuff so as not to add to extra holiday consumerism waste. 3 Dreams for you 🌙💭

1-because that ethereal snap of Tagetes lucida in the beginning of bloom is worth a permanent spot. Mexican mint marigold has been a close friend this past year.

2– I’ve been recalling long, vivid dreams as of late-I’ve also been working with my garden mugwort and other herbs for a few Dreamtime blends. They inform each other. Eating lots of lions mane helps.

3- Texas is stringing us along, but the gift of cool mornings and a couple chilly days, paired with a bit of a jostle to the ol noggin has given me some inspiration and a circle back to a facet of myself I enjoy more.

in conclusion- Hope I see you at the Eden East market and fall fest on Saturday.

If there are other markets you think I should vend at- I will soon have a variety of new wares in time for holidays I’m excited to share.

The cabinet is open and herbal creations are being plotted and planned. What offerings would you like to see this winter/ holiday season?

It’s not instagrammable or idealized, but it’s a real snapshot of right now. When have you ever walked into a wizards tower in the midst of magic making and thought, wow was Martha Stewart in here because he really cleans up. No, the eye of newt is on top of piles of half open books, and the cauldron is bubbling over while there’s 5 bowls of herbal powders in another corner, the cursed tome is screeching, and the familiar is demanding attention. It’s nice to take aesthetic pictures to tell a pleasing story, but I also like this story of the humble cabinet of plants and a plain notebook and a little dust.

There’s a lot that goes into the behind the scenes of a website and online store, and it’s just lil ol me and a nonexistent budget, so patience! But also I welcome feedback so I can improve.

I hope you have a fantastic, creative, spooky Halloween, and a good Samhain and dia de loa mu***os. I will be a jet lagged eyeball for Halloween, and do some celebrations otherwise. Once I’m back in action I’ll bring you some new seasonal products and cold brew and hopefully hot coffee if it gets cold enough. Enjoying the 50 degrees and rainy weather over here in Europe.

I had quite a few people ask so here’s the announcement for you. I have mixed feelings about giving short keywords for what an herb “does.” On one hand it helps give people who have no knowledge a basic idea of if this is an herb that could be an ally. On the other hand, its brevity tends to be reductive and trend towards buzzwords that are not necessarily accurate and prioritize capturing customer interest and selling products. I don’t want to my intentions to ever be mistaken for the second. I want you to explore relationship with plants but give you a starting guide. More on that later.

For now, know this Ashwagandha was sourced from high quality regenerative farm, and it was a pleasure to work with- the herby stank really came thru.

If anyone has Ashwagandha seeds to grow for the future let me know!

🦎Fire Cider🔥
My favorite ol reliable immune and digestive tonic made with farm fresh herbs and alliums.

These babies will debut at the 5 Year Anniversary extravaganza this Saturday in Bastrop, and will soon be on the Etsy and. -website- that will be published this week.

We used Eden East onions, peppers, and herbs, along with ingredients from our garden. Farm fresh yall.

This batch of fire cider while classically pungent, is not super spicy. I prefer it that way. This makes it a lil more kid friendly. For those of you who want their mouths to be punished, stick another chile pequin or 2 in the bottle.

This batch of fire cider is going to finally be pressed after some late additions of more pepper and horseradish. Prepare thineself for clear sinuses!

From 9-1pm they will be celebrating their 5 year anniversary with the farm stand, vendors, yoga, hamburgers and more. Come by, say hi and get some herbs and veggies.
