At Satya we've always made community a priority but hope to continuously grow in our ability to care for one another. In an effort to manifest more of our vision, we would like to call on the collective vision of our community in what we create next. Ideas include creating a community pantry in the Satya parking lot, organizing community projects that range from volunteering at local non-profits with a social-justice focus to assembling hygiene kits, to picking up trash in the studio neighborhood.

We recognize that there is a deep desire to DO something, and working alongside others – even in small ways – can help make a big difference.

Join us for a brainstorming (seed planting?) meeting at the studio, today, Thursday, November 13th, at 7:30pm to bring ideas together. DM or message us at info@studiosatya.com with your interest in attending or to receive the Zoom link to join online.

October 2025 marks the 4th year of our sweet studio opening its doors, and it’s the 6th year of Studio Satya as a sanctuary for yogis in Austin. The evolutions this space has undergone make it almost unrecognizable, as it has been in a steady state of unfolding and becoming. None of it would be possible without each teacher and student who has walked through our front door.

While looking back over the last 4 years, memories come flooding back of both the struggles and the joys. Seeing pictures of our kids way back in 2021, peeling wallpaper off the original walls makes those early days feel vaguely recent and simultaneously lifetimes ago.

It has been a great honor opening this space, cultivating and sharing in community, witnessing the growth of the studio and the unseen threads of caring that connect so many of us to each other. Here’s to 6 years, and many more to come.

Every year, Diwali arrives as a festival of lights - a celebration that shimmers through homes, hearts, and horizons. It’s a time when diyas(earthen lamp) glow along doorways, sweets fill our tables, and the air hums with hope. Yet, beneath the sparkle lies a profound invitation: to awaken the inner light and clear the darkness within.

In yoga philosophy, light symbolizes awareness, and darkness represents ignorance or avidya - the veil that clouds our perception of truth. Diwali, then, is not just an outer celebration but an inner journey.

Read more about cultivating awareness of the light within, on our blog written by Divya.

Change is the one constant we can count on—yet our natural instinct is often to resist it. Whether in our bodies, relationships, careers, or within our communities and the wider world, change can feel unsettling, overwhelming, and even frightening.
This three-hour workshop offers a supportive space to explore your relationship with change through the wisdom of yoga and mindful reflection. Together, we’ll ground in community and gently explore how change is showing up in your life right now, and how it lands in your body.

Through breathwork, gentle movement, journaling, and meaningful dialogue, you’ll discover ways to encounter change with a little more ease. We’ll close with a restful yoga nidra practice to integrate your experience.

Come exactly as you are—no prior yoga experience is needed.

This season of Community Conversations is inspired by Paul Tillich's The Courage to Be. According to Tillich, courage is essential to human existence. Courage is what drives us to act intentionally as we navigate the many challenges and uncertainties of life. When we feel overwhelmed by tragedies of the world, be they near or far, courage is what enables us to create positive change. Courage calls us to be brave in the face of doubt, demands that we act rather than surrender. As we collectively strive to create a better world, courage is what makes every one of us powerful, resilient, and capable.

Each conversation in this theme will ask individuals to explore this idea of courageous being. We will each have the opportunity to share about our unique expression of being courageous, as well as listen to how others find courage within their own sense of self. Through honest dialogue and compassionate listening, our community will learn about courage and being.

Join Madison, and our sweet Satya community members as we explore this idea of courage together. First and Third Thursdays each month, 7:30-9:00pm, In-Person or Online.

Join Hollie for a deep dive into the beginning of the Autumn season. Here we honor the season of realease and grief through the cool, balancing nature of the Libra archetype. Here we gather our resources in preparation for what's ahead. It is a season of releasing all we wish to let go of, carrying only that which will nourish in the months ahead. As we wearch for harmony within, we can receive the energy of nature in this balanced moment of equilibrium between light and dark.
