Stop waiting for rock bottom. It's a myth that's keeping people from getting help until it's almost too late.
Rock bottom isn't a place you have to visit before you're allowed to get better. It's just wherever you decide to stop digging and start climbing.
Maybe your rock bottom is waking up hungover for the third time this week. Maybe it's lying to your family again. Maybe it's missing another important event because substances felt more important in the moment.
You don't have to lose your job, your family, your home, or your health to deserve recovery. You don't have to hit some imaginary low that proves you're "sick enough" to get help.
The best time to get sober is before everything falls apart, not after. The best rock bottom is the one you choose, not the one that chooses you.
If you're thinking about getting help, that thought alone is enough. You don't need permission from rock bottom to start healing.
Your recovery can start right now, right where you are, with everything you still have left.
