Join us this Saturday, May 17th for the 10th annual Mermaid Capital of Texas Fest in downtown San Marcos.
Parade kicks off at 10am on The Square. Music, creativity booths & vendors to follow at Plaza Park, located at CM Allen and Hopkins St (adjacent to the San Marcos River).
This vibrant, creative event brings people together to celebrate everything that makes San Marcos truly one-of-a-kind—from its rich culture and community spirit, to its beloved San Marcos River. Come learn about river stewardship, support local artists, and peep some incredible costumes.

This gorgeous gal must have heard that the Mermaid Capital of Texas Fest was coming up this weekend, so she’s putting on quite a show- three open bloom clusters and one about to pop!
Hoya Obovata is one of my favorite varieties of hoya, as it is a prolific bloomer, less fickle, and a faster grower than other varieties. Hoyas are semi-succulent epiphytes, meaning they store water in their thick, waxy leave and take moisture and nutrients from the air. Excellent for hanging baskets or trellised, these plants make excellent house or porch plants. Obovata flowers have a faint scent of chocolate!
This hanging basket, a healthy obovata “splash” variety, will be available at our booth on Saturday.

Peep these magical troll friends, featuring Tillandsia bulbosa . This smooth- surfaced airplant enjoys lower light levels and more frequent watering than its fuzzier cousins. Distinguished by an exaggerated bulbous base and firm, spindly leaves. Native to Mexico, Central America, and Brazil.
Plant is easily removable for care, and comes with care instructions to ensure your treasure thrives. A perfect mix of nostalgia and whimsy to bring good luck to your desk, windowsill, or plant shelf. Available in shop and at our next event! ...

Join us for family fun benefitting public education at the Cowan Elementary Carnival, happening this Saturday from 11am- 4pm.⁠ 2817 Kentish Drive, 78748.⁠
This event is near and dear to our hearts, as our little frond has thrived thanks to the amazing educators at our neighborhood elementary school. Come enjoy carnival games, rides/ bounce houses, a stellar raffle and vendors. A portion of our proceeds will benefit the Cowan PTA. Free to attend, with wristbands and tickets available for sale so the littles to enjoy all of the fun. ⁠⁠
Funky Fronds will be basking in the beautiful spring weather with great new inventory. Fresh ready-to-grow arrangements, raw plants, and more.⁠.⁠.⁠.⁠
