This is something I’m SUPER excited about and I promise you’ve NEVER seen anything like this!

This is what I believe what rehab for weightlifters should look like!

This is how I helped a weightlifter with chronic lower back pain go from front squatting very light weight to heavy sn**ch and clean and jerks in 8 weeks!

In it is the details of the initial evaluation, their custom combined weightlifting and rehab programming, my explanations why for each exercise, and the patient’s own notes!

Reasons why I’m doing this:
1. The vast majority of my new patients and athletes are from referrals, so I want to encourage more referrals.
2. I need money due to a lot of unexpected expenses 😭

A poor sequence or kinetic chain can lead to technique inefficiencies such as:
1️⃣ Loopy bar path
2️⃣ Low sn**ch/CnJ compared to squat and overhead strength
3️⃣ Difficulty continuing to pull under efficiently and quickly
4️⃣ Poor balance through the lift and receive

There are a lot of ways to improve this. Some of my current favorites are:
1️⃣ Sn**ch Bouncies: Power position high pull>Power position sn**ch/clean (3+3)
2️⃣ Sn**ch/clean deadlift + shrug> Sn**ch/clean Pull: Can be done from floor or hang or blocks (1-3+1-3).
3️⃣ Sn**ch/clean pull > Sn**ch/clean high pull: Can be done from floor or hang or blocks (1-3+1-3).
4️⃣ Sn**ch/clean pull with pause at top of extension> Sn**ch/clean: (1-2+1-2). These can be from floor, hang or blocks.
5️⃣ Sn**ch/clean high pull> Sn**ch/clean: (1-3+1-3). These can be from floor, hang or blocks.

Figuring out what complex fits best depends on the athlete.

Recently I’ve seen a spate of posts proclaiming “technique doesn’t matter!” which is a generalized, unnuanced approach to movement and programming.

But there is truth in this--from an injury perspective.

Injuries in lifting are most often a result of:
Programming: If you increase load too quickly over too little time, certain body parts might be unable to adapt to the load.
Lifestyle changes: Sudden difficulty sleeping, switching from a caloric surplus to a deficit, more hours at work,etc.
A horrible life event: Deaths in the family, sudden financial difficulties, relationship problems, etc.
