We are looking for a caregiver for our young adult son - to work during the day for up to 30 hours a week.
Our son is 36 years old, deaf, and has some medical needs. He uses both American Sign Language (ASL) with a limited vocabulary, and picture symbols to communicate with others. He is very social and chatty and loves people and going for walks and rides in the family van. (Pre-pandemic: going shopping, riding on the city bus). He is small for his age and can walk but uses a wheelchair for the most part.
We are seeking a person who can spend time with him doing activities as well as taking care of him. Knowing basic conversation-level ASL is essential. In addition to doing activities with him, time with our son would be spent giving him medicines and feedings, helping him with the bathroom, and doing some light cleaning. We will train you in everything!
