Beyond adding beauty and personality to our hallways, crafting supports seniors’ fine motor skills, reduces stress, and sparks social connection, making it a wonderful boost for both mind and spirit!

Today is National Falls Prevention Awareness Day.

Falls are one of the most common – and serious – injuries for adults age 65 and older, but many are entirely preventable. Simple steps like improving lighting, reviewing medications and practicing gentle balance exercises can make a big difference.

There are so many people we must recognize for making our Oktoberfest celebration a night to remember.

Firstly, thank you to Off the Grid Band for keeping us entertained all night. The birthday shout out to one of our residents was a wonderful, personal touch!

Secondly, Magnolia Hospice Care LLC is responsible for providing all of our beer steins, wooden crates, and bartending services! Our long-standing relationship with their care is truly valued.

Next, we must give credit to the amazing Legacy Culinary Team for serving up an amazing spread, starting with hot soft pretzels and ending with moist German chocolate cake!

Also, our amazing care staff, Lifestyles team, housekeeping/maintenance crew, and concierge all pitched in to set up, decorate, serve, and take photos. We couldn't have done it without you!

Lastly, thank you to our terrific family and friends. We had a record amount of guests RSVP and attend, showing us exactly why we host special nights like these.

Our friends at Beacon Hospice know the importance of celebrating life's milestones at every age and any stage!

To share the magic of our Director of Lifestyles' 30th birthday, we hosted a cake walk in our second floor living room. Residents and family moved around to great American standards classic songs, while Beacon Hospice provided a robust variety of cake flavors from Italian Wedding Cake to Strawberry Tres Leches! We worked for the calories and had a blast along the way, and the best part was, everyone came out a winner!

The final day of our National Assisted Living Week Spirit Week, aka Flower/Hawaiian Friday, had us celebrating from morning to night!

First, a group of gregarious residents took it upon themselves to hand out bouquets of flowers to strangers at Barton Creek Mall, bringing smiles to dozens of unsuspecting shoppers. Of course, they had to stop for a quick soft serve break in the food court! 💐🍦

Next, our Green Thumb Club ladies designed stunning floral centerpieces for each of our dining room tables. 🌹🌸🌷

In the afternoon, we cooled down with tropical smoothies made from papaya, pineapple, peach, strawberry, banana, coconut, and mango! 🥭🍍🍑🍓🍌🥥🍹

With full bellies, we headed to the relaxing theater to watch a travel documentary on the volcanoes of Hawaii. 🌺🌋

To round out the evening, a special showing of Elvis Presley's "Blue Hawaii" was aired for all after dinner. 🕺🎤🏝

We had a truly special week celebratory the joy and splendor that is Assisted Living! Check out some fun staff and resident photos from our sunflower photo booth. 🌼
