Events like this remind us of why we do what we do and how to better support those in our community. We are always learning and growing together. What a gift to know that we can and DO recover!

From the golf tournament to pickleball (with coaching from George Joseph!), the TAAP State Conference reminded us that collaboration and joy are at the heart of lasting recovery.

What is a Medical Detox? 🤔

Drug and alcohol detox is often the first step toward a healthier and positive life, but the uncertainties of detox and withdrawal can be scary.

Will withdrawal be painful? How long will detox last? Is it dangerous? Understandably, these are all common concerns people have regarding detox treatment.

At Positive Recovery Centers, we offer drug and alcohol detox in a welcoming environment where you can feel comfortable and cared for.

Our top priorities are your safety and well-being; we provide individually tailored detox programs at our Garden Oaks, DFW-Euless, and Austin-Hill Country locations.

Yesterday, we gathered to honor at Garden Oaks.

It was an evening of remembrance, education, and hope, with a moving tribute through the Texas Memorial Walkway to honor the beautiful souls taken too soon by overdose.

Each name on the walkway represents a life filled with love, family, and story. And each story reminds us why awareness, prevention, and addiction recovery are so deeply important.

We are grateful to Lightning Step and Tina Boushehri for sponsoring this event and creating a space for healing and reflection.

Thank you also to Skyler Ray and Kala Mulcahy for sharing their gift of music and support in bringing the evening together.

International Overdose Awareness Day calls us to remember, to break stigma, and to keep fighting for a future where no life is cut short by overdose. 💜

Today is International Overdose Awareness Day.⁣

Far too many lives are cut short by the disease of addiction. Each number is a person—a son, daughter, parent, sibling, or friend—gone too soon.⁣
⁣
Awareness matters because stigma still stands in the way of healing. Stigma keeps people silent when they need help the most. Stigma tells families to hide instead of seek support. And stigma prevents communities from fully seeing addiction for what it is: a treatable illness, not a moral failing.⁣
⁣
Today, we honor those we’ve lost, stand with those who are grieving, and recommit ourselves to breaking the silence. At Positive Recovery, we believe recovery is possible and that every life is worth saving.⁣
