Hello all, a while back I promised I would post only when I felt it was relevant.

Today is a sad day for some and a happy day for others. Roe vs. Wade has been in our headlines for as long as I can remember.

As a coach, I believe in people having agency over their lives. This may sound like I am on one side.
As a coach, I also believe judgement is a both productive and non-productive. We must judge to make good choices (discernment). We must not judge others for their choices.

I personally am sad today, as personal choice has been legally taken away for women.

This doesn't mean the end. There is evidence, for example Poland, that shows these laws don't actually have the result that they are intended to provide. Their saying "when the door closes, there is always a window". This was the case in the USA prior to Roe vs. Wade and will return. Only we will have less regulation and less safety.

I regret that we are polarized and need to side with a political party in this nation to have a our choice validated.

Today I grieve for women who have had their agency over their bodies taken away. I grieve for the people who in the hearts believe this choice can actually be taken away.

In 1972, President Richard Nixon issued proclamation 4157 naming October 6th as National Coaches Day. He encouraged activities and ceremonies honoring coaches for the friends and counselors they become.
