Update: Local Infiltration Anesthesia Permit Exciting news!

TSBDE will begin accepting local infiltration anesthesia applications beginning September 1st! Dental hygienists MUST obtain a Texas permit to administer local infiltration anesthesia in the state of Texas.

Applicants must create or log-in to their online licensing portal to apply for a permit.

UPDATE: CLASS IS FULL

In case you missed it!

UT Houston has put a course together that meets TSBDE requirements to become certified in administration of local anesthesia.

This will only be the didactic portion. After the didactic portion, you will still need 12 hours of clinical. If you contact UTSD Houston, they will be able to give a more definitive answer. We just wanted to present options for hygienists as everyone is excited about LA.
