The Dallas County Medical Society Alliance made membership a major focus this past year – and the results showed. Their hard work earned the alliance the overall Durham Membership Award during ALLMED (in April), along with Bronze recognition for member renewals, new member recruitment, and auto-renewals, plus Silver recognition for welcoming back returning members. At the poster reception, they also spotlighted the incredible impact of collaboration through outreach with local schools, a pediatric mobile clinic, their county medical society, and neighboring Tarrant County Medical Society Alliance.

The Bell County Medical Alliance had a strong year of membership growth, earning Silver during ALLMED (April) for welcoming new and returning members and for auto-renewals. The alliance also took home Bronze for member renewals and TEXPAC participation.

At the poster reception, the alliance proudly showcased Project Heartbeat, which provided meals for local kids during spring break. Keep the momentum going, Bell County!

Serving with purpose in Corpus Christi. TMA Alliance members came together during ALLMED to assemble hygiene kits for underserved children and adults in the community. Thanks to Physicians Premier for helping underwrite this event.

$500 was up for grabs for local alliances that renewed 95% of their members. The Cameron-Willacy County Medical Society Alliance met the challenge and was recognized during the Celebration Luncheon at ALLMED in Corpus Christi earlier this month. Way to go!

Four local alliances took home Blue-Ribbon Awards for outstanding achievements in advocacy, community outreach, and membership – the pillars that guide TMAA’s work. The Nueces County Medical Society Alliance received the Mary Ann Homer Legislative Advocacy Award for staying informed, involved, and influential. One stand out -- More than 350 physicians and alliance members attended 20 different events that included candidate forums and fund-raisers. The Tarrant County Medical Society Alliance invests in and builds a healthier community, and that work was recognized with the Community Outreach Award. From work with their local food bank to a Shower of Love for families at a local NICU to Hard Hats for Little Heads and Texas BookShare and much more, the Tarrant alliance makes a big impact in its community.

The Dallas County Medical Society Alliance received the Durham Membership Award for reimagining how to connect – recruiting new members, welcoming back familiar faces, and boosting engagement. A year-full of events, with a targeted strategy to drive attendance, plus a collaborative approach with its county medical society for Doctors’ Day were some of the highlights. The President’s Award went to the Hidalgo-Starr County Medical Society Alliance for making an extraordinary impact among the local medical family and community. Reignited with an inaugural gala, in cooperation with the CMS, new members, and new leaders, the alliance really shone bright. Congratulations to all the award winners for their dedication and impact.

Joi Smith’s final journey as TMA Alliance president was a fun-filled evening of tasty nibbles, refreshing drinks, and fancy automobiles. In early April, she and TMAA President-Elect Lydia Soldano traveled to Houston for the Harris County Medical Society’s Apps, Drinks, and Aston Martins event. Joi and Lydia joined Harris County Medical Society President Louise Bethea, MD, and President-Elect Hattie Henderson, MD, to help spread the word about the TMA Alliance and ALLMED 2027, the alliance's annual meeting, which will be in Houston. Harris CMS pulled out all the stops for a memorable evening!

Lydia Soldano began her presidency of the Texas Medical Association Alliance in a speech to TMA’s House of Delegates on April 18 at TexMed affirming her dedication to service – and thanking the alliance for its “huge impact.”

TMA Alliance members embraced the Beach Party theme at the 33rd annual TMA Foundation gala with leis, smiles, and tropical flair. The festive evening honored the service of all, who share a commitment to improving the health of all Texans.
