Since 1987, the Health and Safety Training Center at The University of Texas at Austin has provided safety and health compliance training to the Texas mining industry as the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) State Grants recipient of Texas.
As a grant funded program, the Health and Safety Training Center is responsible for providing safety and health training and a variety of other services to improve the conditions of mine safety and health within Texas.
In addition to providing mine safety compliance training, the Health and Safety Training Center provides safety and health training for Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance, Electrical Safety, Certification Exam Prep for safety professionals, MSHA Underground Mine Safety compliance, and First Aid/CPR offerings.
We will continue to develop new course offerings in safety and health training that is applicable for all industries and individuals. Safe production continues to be our priority as we work to prevent on-the-job injuries, accidents and fatalities across Texas, the United States and internationally.
