February is a perfect time for residents to enjoy all the outdoor spaces and experiences throughout our community.

One of our favorite spots is the Courtyard Grill, an excellent spot for cookouts, laughter and gathering with great company. So put on your grilling apron (or sit back and grab a plate!) because good times are in store here at Longhorn Village.

Tap dancer, singer, storyteller, you name it! Movin’ Melvin is an all-around entertainer who brings the electric energy of R&B, rock ’n’ roll and soul straight to the stage. Our residents recently enjoyed a special Longhorn performance filled with smooth moves and tunes by Movin’ Melvin.

Congratulations to Akon Basey, Longhorn Village’s Associate of the Month.

Akon may be a personal trainer by title, but to Longhorn Village, she is so much more. She is a true advocate for health and wellness, supporting not only her personal training clients but also encouraging residents across our community to stay active and engaged through the many fitness classes she leads.

Dependable and always willing to go the extra mile, Akon works closely with the wellness, fitness, and rehab teams to ensure seamless transitions and the best care for our residents. She has also gone above and beyond by helping residents feel confident using our new fitness equipment through additional orientations and one-on-one support.

With her positive attitude, strong communication, and genuine care for our residents, Akon is a joy to work with—and our residents agree. Congratulations, Akon, and thank you for all that you do!
