Advocacy in action at the Texas Capitol.

On February 19, our Director of Governmental Relations, Maxcine Tomlinson, LMSW, spent a couple of productive hours meeting with Rep. Penny Morales Shaw (Houston) to discuss critical issues impacting hospice and palliative care — including Medicaid contracting issues and the need for licensure of child life specialists.

We’re encouraged that Rep. Morales Shaw’s team is well-informed about TNMHPO’s priorities and committed to working toward solutions that support providers, patients, and families. Strong partnerships with legislators make meaningful progress possible.
