Pregnancy can be a time of dissociation from the body or reconnection.

I truly believe pregnancy is innately designed to be an opportunity for forging the deepest connection with your body you’ve yet experiencedβ€” if you’re open to it.

A woman becomes sensitized to a completely new set of bodily functions awakening within her.

If you have underlying fears of being out of control of your body, this is the first opportunity to heal this within yourself in preparation for birth.

Sometimes the fears are subtle, more subconscious.

- Resistance to moving your body and staying active.

- Resistance to looking at or touching your yoni.

- Resistance or disgust to your new bodily nectars.

- Resistance to making love with your partner.

- Resistance to honoring your intuitive desires for your birth.

The beautiful news? All of this is an invitation.

At any moment you can choose curiosity. And stroke the root of your resistance.

You can experience the connection to your pregnant body and yoni you were always meant to have.

Numb yoni tissue becomes magically sensational.

Hypersensitive or painful yoni tissue reveals its emotional holding patterns.

In there lies the key to transforming all your limiting beliefs around your body and birth.

Regular, slow loving touch to your yoni will change your life.

It’s the nervous system reset button your never knew you had.

This is one of the most underrated tools and practices for birth.

You have always had access to the source.

πŸŒ€Β Comment PORTAL for access to my free Intro to Yoni Mapping course.

This is the perfect starting place for those interested in using Yoni Mapping as a tool to prepare for birth. Or any woman needing a relationship reboot (even for the first time ever) with her yoni.

11.1.24 ✨β™₯️

On one of the off-the-beaten-path trips we’ve taken to date, you asked me if I would take the biggest adventure of all with you.

I think I’ve always been yours but now it’s proclaimed! πŸ˜‰πŸͺ©βœ¨

I think back on the younger version of me that was afraid to ever need anyone or anything.

Our relationship has flipped and turned every existing idea I ever had about myself and love.

And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Our love has shown me how much farther we can go together.

And oh how I have grown and BLOSSOMED in your arms πŸ˜πŸ’

You’re the only man that never wanted anything from me. . . only to love, protect and pour into me.

We’ve been together for 4 years now and everyday you look at me the way the secret romantic in me always dreamed of.

I look at this ring on my finger and I feel freer than I ever have in my life.

Since the day you asked me to be yours, there has been a fire lit inside of me that has reminded me of my innate powers.

Your love sets me on fire πŸ”₯β™₯οΈπŸ’ƒπŸ»

And this Scorpio woman needs her sweet, sweet Libra man!

You are the coolest, most genuine, loving, thoughtful, responsible, strong, warm, generous, and cleverest man.

Everywhere you go, you have this innate gift of making people feel seen, understood, and making anyone laugh.

Thank you for choosing me to be your partner in life β™₯️

It’s my greatest honor to build a beautiful life and family with you.

There’s so much more I could say but I’ll just leave it here!

I’m all yours, 😍β™₯️

What would happen if we viewed the β€œinconveniences” of pregnancy as being for us rather than against us?
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
A difficult and strongly symptomatic pregnancy is no doubt a challenge.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
It’s common to hold the expectation that pregnancy should minimally interrupt our present life.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
We’re all human beings that naturally resist change.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
With the mindset shift that these experiences are for our highest good and are actually supporting us in the sacred tasks of:
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
1) Shedding our old identity
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
2) Reorganizing our life priorities
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
3) And ultimately helping us become the mother we’re meant to be.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
I’ve seen firsthand that when a woman is able to lean more into acceptance and surrender during pregnancy, her postpartum identity crisis is less intense and more easily integrated.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
There’s a quote that goes something like, β€œWe can try to choose the easy way out in pregnancy and birth, but we always receive the missing parts on the other side.”
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
Meaning, often the interventions or avoidances that we think will make things easier, lend themselves to a more difficult recovery and integration process on the other side.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
I always come back to the belief that there is so much more to the process of pregnancy and birth than what meets the eye.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
The emotions and symptoms that some brush off as β€œhormones” or β€œmysteries”, I believe are our greatest teachers.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
It’s not always easy to approach pregnancy or the overall motherhood transition this way.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
But maybe it’s the process we need to trust to initiate us into the powerful, intuitive mother we know we’re meant to become.

When I was 19, I moved to Madrid by myself.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
The two years prior had been filled with a lot of pain and confusion β€” naturally, nothing sounded better than getting as far away as possible.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
Younger me wouldn’t admit it at the time, but I was scared sh*tless being so far away from anyone that really loved me. I had no idea what I was doing most of the time.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
My time there was equal parts beautiful and mindblowing and lonely and frustrating.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
And I learned one of the biggest lessons of my twenties so farβ€” going at it alone isn’t always better.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
I think a lot of people need the lesson of being able to stand on their own. To know themselves in solitude. To travel on their own.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
Most of my twenties have been pretty lonely.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
I’ve moved around a lot. I’ve done a bad job of maintaining relationships. I’ve prioritized solo experiences and growth. And most of all, I’ve tried to do everything on my own.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
For whatever combination of childhood experiences and personality quirks, it’s not easy for some of us to trust and let others in.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
But God, what a difference it makes to have a life filled with the people you love!
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
It’s close to a decade later, but the lesson is finally sinking in for me.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
I had the full circle moment of going back to my old apartment building (photo 1) this month.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
My old neighborhood is almost exactly the same, but the girl in the photos in so different. That’s really all I could ever ask for :)
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
Cherish the people that make life full. Don’t feel weak for needing people. Learn how to be alone and then learn even better how to let love in.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €

The truth about becoming a doula isβ€”
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
It will require you to transform and face every inch of your mind, heart, and being.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
Becoming a multidimensional doula cannot be learned in a weekend training.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
It’s not just the lifestyle of being on call and knowing the mysterious corners of the birth realm.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
It’s the values you uphold, the self-awareness you develop, the dissolving of your ego, the energy you emit to the woman holding your hand, and so much more.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
What do you feel when you think about birthwork, friend? πŸ‘Ά

How we relate to "pain" is everything.

The painful moments of my life have naturally left their marks on me, but I wouldn't be the deep, complex, colorful, and multi-faceted human I am today without them.

I never wanted a life that was just a pretty picture.

What I've found is that the more I try to avoid pain, the more friction-filled and agonizing life gets.

The times in life when I embrace the pain, intensity, and discomfort, there is always joy and revelations on the other side.

In that scenario, I'm working with the natural flow of life that balances itself from low to high.

Even if I could successfully ward off life's obstacles, discomfort, and pain β€” would I really enjoy a flat, controlled, closed-off, surrender-less version of life?

I always think about this question when I think about birth.

Birth has always been such a metaphor for life.

And as women, we navigate the many paths we would like to take for the birth of our babies.

When I work with clients on their birth plans, I encourage them to ask themselves questions like:

What is the primary driving feeling behind your birth plan? Is it fear? Is it submission? Is it empowerment? Is it love?

What are you trying to avoid in your birth? Is there a connection to something you try to avoid in your own life?

There is no secret method in birth (or in life) for avoiding its pain and intensity.

There is only the power of your mind and how you choose to feel about it.

So ask yourself the big question: where are you holding yourself back from feeling more?

When I meet a woman struggling to feel at home in her body, it's often the things she takes away, rather than add, that make her feel good in her skin again. Instead of trying to cover up or manage her womanhood, she lets it breathe.

She learns to love her bare skin, air-dried hair, natural scent, cyclical body, and emotional waves.

From that place, she learns to adorn herself.

She chooses to add rituals to her life that only expand her existing beauty.

It's energy that moves from a place of expansion rather than fear and lack.

A touch of mauve lipstick is a ritual.

A dress is chosen for the day's mood.

Braiding or curling hair is simply an act of love.

She can run barefoot through a field and choose the days she wears her heels.

She free-bleeds onto a blanket while rubbing cold-pressed oils into her skin.

Women are nature in action.

We are wild.

Our bodies and beauty are not to be tamed, managed, extracted, or feared.

Rewild your womanhood and from there you will love your body again.

Many of us have been on a feminine reclamation journey over these past few years.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
Its been beautiful to see many of the women in my life tapping back into their intuition, allowing themselves to soften, relaxing into receiving and centering pleasure in their lives.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
And I’ve also had many similar conversations with women where they feel like they’re fighting an internal battle to β€œbe feminine”.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
To this I say, there isn’t just one way to be a feminine woman.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
I love rock music, black clothes, yelling at sports games, going after what I want with fire in my belly, being organized and business savvy, tapping into my intellectual and analytic sides – qualities that some might label as more β€œmasculine”.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
And I love flowy dresses, cooking up a storm, trusting life to flow, letting my partner sort out the more serious details of our life, not taking out the trash (πŸ˜‚), and just feeling like a soft little fairy butterfly!
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
Women, we have layers!
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
I relax into my feminine being by knowing that no matter what I do, I am always a deeply feminine woman at my core.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
When I get fired up, chasing down a dream with intention and effort, I am still doing this in my unique feminine way.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
When I set a boundary, feel anger or frustration, I am still doing this in my unique feminine way.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
When I feel ugly, crazy, and surrounded by darkness, I am still doing this in my unique feminine way.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
Reclaim yourself to reclaim your femininity.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
Loving your womanhood means loving all parts of you.

On a Tuesday evening around 11 pm, I drove to Ashley’s house with that familiar pit of excitement and nervousness in my stomach.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
Her water had broken while out at dinner with friends, and by the time she got home, things seemed to be picking up fairly quickly.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
I found her in her bedroom, smiling and chatty, in disbelief that things seemed to be happening tonight.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
We chatted in between contractions for a while until things started intensifying. She found comfort in the bathroom with the red light on, laboring over the toilet.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
She passed most of the night like that, in the bathroom with her husband. Her midwife and I checked on her over the next few hours, but overall she felt most comfortable alone.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
In the early hours of the morning, I refilled the birthing pool with warm water, anticipating her desire to move to water.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
She entered the pool and enjoyed the soothing sensations of the warm water. Soon after, she started to feel the urge to push as her contractions began slowing down.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
Ashley pushed her baby out with full-body mama lion strength! She was focused and dialed in while holding onto her husband’s hand tightly.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
Mirren was born while the sun rose! The midwife caught her and put her right onto her mama’s chest.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
Ashley’s first words after birth were, β€œWow, that was intense!”.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
Mom and baby hung out in the pool for a little while and shortly after her placenta was born.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
We helped them get settled into bed to rest for the new day and first day of life.
