Why We’re Using Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Training

When this patient came to me with a tendon strain, he was experiencing significant strength deficits. Through consistent progress over the past few weeks, we’ve made incredible strides in his recovery!

Here, he’s performing sidelying shoulder abduction with just a 1-pound weight. But thanks to BFR training, this small weight feels much more challenging, helping us achieve strength gains without adding unnecessary stress to the healing tissue.

How does BFR work?
BFR temporarily restricts blood flow to the muscles, creating an environment that mimics high-intensity exercise while using low loads. This allows us to:

• Improve strength and endurance safely.
• Promote tendon healing by creating optimal conditions for tissue repair.
• Reduce stress on the joint or injury site, essential during early recovery phases.

This is a great example of how individualized rehab plans can help you return to your active lifestyle!

✨ Reflecting on 2024 ✨

This year has been a rollercoaster, filled with highs, lows, and everything in between. But as I look back, I can’t help but feel proud of the progress and growth my business has seen.

Here are some of the highlights from 2024:
✅ Transitioned from a mobile practice to my own space (and tackled a remodel!)
✅ Read and listened to more books than I have in years—both for personal and professional growth
✅ Attended my first professional/business conference
✅ Collaborated with local gyms to host 16 workshops since April, empowering my community

While there were many little wins along the way, there were also tough moments—those times of doubt, unexpected challenges, and lessons learned.

One of my proudest achievements this year has been the connections I’ve built with my community. When I started this journey, my mission was clear: to educate, empower, and positively impact the people I work with. It’s humbling to see that vision come to life.

As I reflect on the lessons and moments that didn’t go as planned, I’m using them to fuel my growth and set my sights even higher for 2025.

I’m ready for what’s to come—the challenges, the opportunities, and the hard work that will drive success. Here’s to building on this foundation and making 2025 an even bigger year! 💪
