SAVE THE DATE! because Selective Mutism Camp is scheduled for August 8-10,2024! This program will be led by Selective Mutism specialists, Thien-An Le. Ph.D., and Sara Louise Tedford, Ph.D. This camp replicates a school setting to practice brave speaking opportunities (speech exposures) to prepare for school and social interactions.Camp attendees start the process with an intake evaluation and collaboratively identify specific goals based on individual needs. It is recommended that children are able to speak to at least one camp facilitator by the start of camp in order to maximize benefit from camp participation. Therefore, lead-in sessions are often recommended. Lead-in sessions are individual therapy sessions with a camp facilitator where parents will learn speech promoting strategies and the provider will initiate fade-in sessions prior to joining camp.
