Dr. Abikahled returned from his medical mission with One World Surgery and is already looking forward to his next trip! Here's what he had to say about his time in Honduras.

"In a weeks time I performed 16 surgeries (hernia repairs and laparoscopic cholecystectomies) in addition to seeing patients in clinic. Our entire team, which included general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology and podiatry, performed more than 50 surgeries. Most of the patients have been waiting for several months or longer for their surgery and were so happy to receive care. We had a fantastic, hard working team who worked well together and was focused on delivering compassionate, high quality and safe surgical care. Our Honduran hosts made us feel so welcome!"

We are so proud to have you on our team Dr. Abikhaled!

In 2022 alone, it's estimated that over 150,000 people will be diagnosed with colon cancer. Unlike most cancers, colon cancer can be treatable when found early.

We are dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of colon cancer screening because anyone can develop this sometimes-silent cancer. We recommend talking to your doctor about possible risk factors and a screening plan that is right for you.

Read our latest blog to learn more about colon cancer screening recommendations. https://bit.ly/37WqBL8

Dr. Brant Victor grew up in South Carolina and California, then moved to Texas to complete medical school and residency in Houston. Outside of surgery, Dr. Victor enjoys a good movie, book or sporting event, spending time with family, and a variety of outdoor sports including running, cycling, hiking, fishing, and grandchildren games.

We take many factors into consideration when discussing breast cancer surgery options with patients, and work closely with a team of doctors to ensure the best personalized treatment plan possible. In our latest blog, we're covering the most common surgical treatment for breast cancer and what you can expect after surgery. https://bit.ly/3KBRhP9

At our core we are surgeons, but we are also dedicated to working with our patients to make sure surgery is right for them. And if it is, we'll sit down and chat about what to expect before, during and after a procedure. We are committed to providing the highest level of patient-focused surgical care for all of Central Texas.

Each of our surgeons have their own unique combination of expertise, experience, and special interests, but all share a passion for providing compassionate surgical care. Learn more about our board certified general surgeons at austinsurgeons.net.
