Dr. Minas Constantinides joined Westlake Dermatology in 2015 after practicing facial plastic and reconstructive surgery in Manhattan, New York City for 21 years. Dr. Constantinides received his baccalaureate with honors in Biochemistry from Brown University and his M.D. He underwent specialty training at Harvard in general surgery and at NYU in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. He completed hi

s fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery in Toronto, then joined the full time faculty in the Department of Otolaryngology at NYU Medical Center in 1994. He was Director of the Division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from 1994 to 2012, and Director of NYU’s facial plastic surgery fellowship program from 1999 to 2014. In 2012, Dr. Constantinides moved his successful practice to the Upper East Side of Manhattan before deciding to relocate to Austin. Dr. Constantinides has published 61 scientific articles and book chapters focusing on facial plastic surgery and is a sought-after lecturer at national and international meetings for his expertise in rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty. He has been the co-director of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery’s (AAFPRS’) biannual Advances in Rhinoplasty course twice. Dr. Constantinides is deeply committed to international and domestic pro bono projects. In 2010 he received the Community Service Award from the AAFPRS acknowledging his successful pro bono surgical missions to Vietnam, India and South America.

Liquid rhinoplasty is a great solution for patients who want to enhance their nose, but aren’t ready for surgery. This was achieved with filler only! Filler was used to correct this patients small bump and to lift her tip. Most results will last at least for 1 year, with the possibility of some lasting up to 2-3 years!

This 28-year-old male desired an improved profile. He wanted a conservative change and to continue looking like himself. Dr. C performed a complex septorhinoplasty procedure on this patient, which involved cutting the nasal bones and reducing the height of the dorsal septum. The sidewalls were turned in to open the valves, creating auto-spreader flaps, and additional cartilage grafts were added to support the sidewalls, tip, and nostrils. The patient is pleased with the outcome as he looks better, but still looks like himself and his breathing is improved.

Rhinoplasty for obstruction enhances the whole face!

This young woman complained of severe bilateral nasal obstruction. She also wanted her nose to look more refined: smaller but still natural looking. When Dr. Constantinides examined her, he saw that her septum was straight. Her obstruction was coming from bilateral narrowing of her nasal valves. He recommended an open septorhinoplasty with bilateral internal and external valve repairs, where cartilage is harvested from the septum and repurposed as beams of support to open and stabilize the nasal valves. Dr. Constantinides expertly performed a bilateral lower eyelid via a transconjunctival approach that effectively addressed this patients heavy undereye bags. By delicately removing excess fat, the transition between her eyelids and cheeks was greatly improved. He delivered beautifully rejuvenated results without leaving any visible scarring. Wonderful transformation from a collapsing nose with complete obstruction to one that looks great & works! using rib cartilage grafting does not have to leave noses looking too big. The rib graft was required her to rebuild strength & support while creating pretty lines from bridge to tip. She looks natural & her eyes & smile are so beautifully natural.

52 year old female
This younger patient had significant premature aging of the midface, jawline and neck. Dr. Constantinides performed an extended deep plane facelift and deep anterior necklift. After one year, marked improvement is seen throughout. In particular, note what deep plane lifting does that other facelifts cannot: 1. Improved midface volume. This is not fat transfer or fillers, but elevation of the patient's own deep fat that has descended over the years. Other facelift surgeons try to get the same result by transferring fat into the midface since they cannot lift it with directly, as Dr. Constantinides did with the deep plane release and elevation; 2. Improved jawline, but also improved mid-cheek creases while smiling. No other facelift technique achieves this since release of the deep plane is required to release the pull of the muscles on the skin of the mid-cheek. This always looks natural and makes patients look more youthful in a subtle but powerful way; 3. Improvement of the saggy neck by tightening the platysma. Most facelift can do this to some degree. The difference is that the deep plane lift releases the platysma from beneath, from where it is stuck. Without this release, in cannot tuck up under the mandible to restore a long, elegant jawline; 4. Elevation of the platysma under the chin, creating a more dramatic jaw-neck contour. The deep anterior necklift removes fat and deeper tissues that then allow the platysma to tuck beneath the chin, improving neck contour even further; 5. Improvement of the contour of the sternocleidomastoid (SCM) muscle. This is the long muscle that runs from beneath the back part of the mandible to the clavicle. Notice how the deep plane necklift creates contour in front of the muscle, a subtle but powerful youthful restoration. Once you see this, you cannot unsee it. Another reason deep plane techniques provide wonderful improvements without ever looking overdone. Also notice that Dr. Constantinides shortened her earlobes so they create a subtle, more youthful appearance and can support earrings better.

No surgery! can create incredible transformation in just 2 sessions. Here I used 1 syringe in total of . Session 1: fill above hump & into central tip for projection/ definition. Session 2 (month later): Refill above hump (there is an always some settling of the filler) & add to tip and to base of columella to improve tip support. The result is natural appearing & transformative.

Smiling after his rhinoplasty and chin implant. Patient & surgeon both happy with this transformative change. He still looks like himself, just more vibrant.
This rhinoplasty required ear cartilage for structural support since he had a previous septoplasty. Since tip support is key to his result, the tip was supported to the bottom of his septum using a tongue-in-groove technique. The chin implant strengthens his jawline for better definition.
