Desh Sahni, MD, at Capital Brain & Spine in Austin, Texas, is one of only a handful of surgeons in Texas trained in both neurosurgery and orthopedics. He uses his skills and knowledge so he can take an evidence-based, scholarly approach to neuro-spine surgery and provide humane and compassionate patient-centric care.
The skilled surgeon uses only the most advanced techniques when performing surgery, including minimally invasive spine surgery, microsurgical spinal decompression, computer-guided spinal surgery, and robotic spine surgery.
Dr. Sahni was raised in New York and received his undergraduate degree in English literature from Columbia University, where he remained for his medical degree. He then relocated to Texas to complete his neurosurgical training at Baylor College of Medicine/MD Anderson in Houston, and then completed his fellowship in complex and minimally invasive orthopedic spine surgery at Texas Medical Center, also in Houston.
Dr. Sahni has extensive high-level neurotrauma training and is renowned as one of the most experienced neurotrauma surgeons in central Texas. He currently serves as a neurotrauma coordinator for one of the best trauma centers in the country.
