Travis County Medical Alliance & Foundation Our mission is to help with health related needs & foster social networks for families of medicine.

Financial grants are awarded annually to local organizations to enhance the health of central Texans. The 2023 grant recipients are the Austin State Hospital Volunteer Services Council, halfHelen Foundation, Hope Clinic, Lirios Pediatrics, Saint Louise House, Volunteer Healthcare Clinic, Memory Caregiver Academy of Austin, and the TCMS Physician Wellness Program. Additionally, the TCMA volunteers with Sacred Heart Community Clinic’s Diabetic Care Program thru a TMAF grant, provides bike helmets in the Hard Hats for Little Heads program, and annually awards a scholarship to a local collegiate nursing student.

In general, the Travis County Medical Alliance does not issue refunds for donations or event payments. If a member has a refund request, they may submit it to the Board of Officers for consideration and the Board may, at their sole discretion, decide whether or not to issue a refund.

Last Thursday, Karen Teneriello, our TCMA member, attended the Texas Exes Scholarship dinner, where four deserving nursing students were awarded the Bayardo Hispanic Nursing Scholarships, facilitated by the TMA Foundation in Travis County. We look forward to featuring our Concordia University scholarship recipient and our 4th University of Texas recipient soon.

Marcela Torres Guerrero
First generation college student. Born in Mexico, moved to the United States at age ten. Works hard to overcome obstacles, willing to push boundaries to achieve her goal of becoming a Registered Nurse.

Arleen Gomez
Incoming Freshman at UT Austin from Mission, Texas. Graduated from LaJolla Palmview High School at the Academy of Health Science Professions-STEM and also earned an Associates Degree of Science in Biology from South Texas College. Her favorite subject is Chemistry and she is excited to pursue her dream of becoming a Nurse at UT Austin.

Alizia Gonzales
Incoming Freshman at UT Austin from Bay City, Texas. Graduated from Bay City High School where she excelled academically while also playing Varsity Basketball and Soccer. Looking forward to getting involved in many organizations at UT while pursuing her nursing degree. Interested in ICU Nursing and serving as a nurse on mission trips to help aid those in need.

Clarissa Martinez
First generation Latina student. Incoming Freshman from Eagle Pass, Texas. Graduated from CC Winn High School where she excelled academically while also working part-time. Also graduated Cum Laude with her Associates of Arts degree from Southwest Texas Junior College. Honored to continue fulfilling and serving her community through her advanced academic pursuits.

Michelle Noriega
Rising Junior at UT Austin from Houston, Texas. Chosen to be part of UT's Honors Day; felt good to be recognized for her hard work. Excited to start clinical rotations which will allow her to explore various nursing units. Long range plan is to eventually pursue her master's degree to become a nurse practitioner.

Our Story

TCMA is a group of physicians and their spouses/ partners in Travis County. We help support the medical needs of the following community nonprofits: Austin Children's Shelter, Partnerships for Children, Hospice Austin, Safe Place, St. Louise House, Volunteer Healthcare Clinic & Casa Marianella. TCMA also helps support political endeavors of the medical community and provides educational, networking and family events.
