My approach to movement and fitness combines knowledge of functional anatomy breathing mechanics, spinal alignment, lifestyle coaching, the importance of the hormonal system and how they are all integrated to give a comprehensive view of the human body. Lifestyle factors such as; nutrition, water absorption and sleep quality. 3. There is the proper way to exercise for your body and an improper way. I’ve worked with clients for decades and while most think they know what strength training is sadly, a lot of it is actually based on an industry and a marketing team that has sold the “instant gratification” model of having 6 pack abs in 5 minutes videos instead.

Everyone needs to have the mobility and flexibility first for long term joint health. To keep the surgeons away and avoid injury. When you’re in your 20’s and early 30’s you can get away with a lot more than late 30’s, 40’s, 50’s and beyond. The bad habits formed as a youth create disc bulges and other postural issues.

Then there’s the daily sitting at a computer or desk for hours on end. This creates more tightness and compression. Which also means the short and tight fascia, muscle…equals dehydration in the joints… that crunching sound you hear when you take a step is dehydration and compression from poor movement and postural issues.

And how do you hydrate- it’s not simply by drinking water… yes, that’s part of it… but it’s also about making sure water molecules move through the Fascia and into those tight spaces. Mobility, flexibility… Eldoa- open the spaces.

Your body holds a lot in the tissues- traumas- sadness, pain… so most people don’t want to sit long enough to create the mobility and release it. Rather, they prefer to jump into a boot camp class and…later will have injuries.

Avoidance of emotion and feeling is a big part of our culture. But, it’s all connected to the physical body. So, if you truly want to be healthy- focus and go into breath-work with the stretch, the mobility, the flexibility of body/mind & spirit. Release it, on the other side is peace, love and compassion. It’s all connected.💗💪 Then your body can do all types of strengthening- true strength with a balanced body that can handle the load.

So fun when Maria pops over with Mia 🐶 (she’s the white curly haired princess in the middle) and was definitely the star of this show!! Mia 🐕 doesn’t like pictures much but we’re happy to have had her in the group anyway. 😄😍 Nothing like taking the time to laugh and have some fun with your girlfriends! 💃 💃 💃

I’m really happy to hear that there is a growing body of interest in the study of women’s bodies and hormonal cycle. There is more scientific evidence showing how important it is for women to factor in their cycles when training. Yay!! 😀 🙌 I always ask my clients where they are in their cycles to train accordingly and to decrease the possibility of injury.

For far too long the studies have been only on men. But their hormonal cycles are different from ours… we are on a 28 day cycle whereas men, have a 24 hour cycle.

It’s time for us to really get in tune with our bodies and cycles to create healthier bodies into our older ages. Things change going into the transition of perimenopause and menopause. More on that in a later post.

Saddened by the passing of a brilliant mind- Dr. Guy Voyer DO who created the ELDOA method, and so much more. Treating hundreds around the globe… He was a pioneer of osteopathic medicine… who mastered and treated fascia. His methods will continue on through his students. Helping to heal all of those we treat. Prayers and love going out to his loved ones. 💕🙏
