One day, we will make policy decisions based on a basic respect for people's bodily autonomy, and not just because "babies are more expensive." Let's be real y'all, we MUST set money aside for providing preventive care AND for caring for low-income families. Here's to that day, compañer@s!

"I want to be able to talk not only about how sober spaces are not considered in q***r spaces but how it is connected to the ways that ableism runs our lives and how our attitudes toward ableism keeps disabled people isolated. Shelter, job opportunities and a responsive and sensitive law-enforcement system are vital to those who want to leave the trade. “People call you a survivor after you leave the life,” Donna told me. “But I was a survivor when I was in it.” She added: “I didn’t really like prostituting. But then, I had no other way out.”

A campaign to end demand for prostitution will harm trafficking victims and s*x workers more than it helps them.
