Dr. David Zuniga is a psychologist, writer, and professional speaker. in Clinical Psychology focusing on the intersections of mindfulness and psychology. He also earned a Masters from Harvard and he holds a Masters degree in literature, incorporating an interdisciplinary approach to his work as a psychologist. Dr. Zuniga is currently a Post-Doctoral Fellow supervised by Krista Jordan, Ph.D., ABPP. Prior to his work as a therapist, Dr. Zuniga became the first westerner to be ordained in the Taego Order (one of the two largest lineages of Zen Buddhism in South Korea), and the third Buddhist to become a licensed hospital/hospice chaplain in the United States. In his previous career, he worked for over a decade as an administrator and interfaith chaplain in both pediatric and adult end-of-life care. These experiences inspired him to pursue his current work as a clinical psychologist. In his current work as a therapist and Post-Doctoral Fellow, Dr. Zuniga provides individual and couples therapy, consultation, and leads frequent seminars and workshops on a wide range of topics. Dr. Zuniga has numerous publications, and in addition to his therapy practice, is currently completing a book on mindfulness and end-of-life care for Wisdom Publications.
