We are a residential personal care home for seniors, and are an ideal alternative to large facilities, providing a home atmosphere with more one on one direct care and attention to needs. At Lou's House Personal Care Home, we have made it our aim to provide senior residents not only with personal care needs such as meal preparation and assistance, health care coordination, activities planning, personal grooming, medication assistance, but also with features that will make our senior residents feel honored and loved: charm, warmth, cleanliness, pleasant, creative care, spaciousness, respect, and honor. If you are interested in a small environment that caters to special needs such as memory care or hearing impaired disabilities, please let us know. We are also eager to tailor activities planing to personal interests of our residents, so we invite ideas and suggestions. Staff will be awake and available for resident needs and companionship 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and includes a full time nurse. We have spaces open now without wait. We would love to invite you for a personal tour. In the meantime, feel free to tour us via our website where we have attempted to provide numerous pictures to give you a feel for our charming senior care home.

We called out the group "Swan Song" out to see one of our residents that is actively dying. Wow! What a great job they did. Kind of a cheesy name, don't care for that very much, but, the name gets the idea across. They did a great job signing for our resident, very, very well done and very professional. The guitar player's name is Jesse Lafave, and yes, he is the nephew of THE Jimmy Lafave, man that guy can play. Great job! I highly recommend them for anyone out in the industry that wants to do something special for a resident that is in the process of dying.

Thank you Shinyribs and the entire Austin, Texas community for the amazing support! The 2018 Swan Songs Serenade was fabulous. We are eternally grateful to all our sponsors, donors, volunteers, staff, board – everyone who stepped up in advance, worked so hard at the event and...

It has always been part of our business philosophy to help out when and where we can. My wife and I have been on the phone all morning, reaching out to the Red Cross and Department on Aging and Disability Services. We know that there must be people in the affected flood areas that are in desperate need of placement of elderly due to the hurricane. Turns out, it is very hard to actually connect people that want to help with people that need help. So, here it goes on social media. We have openings. I can take two men, a single man or a single woman. We can make ourselves available for long term stay, short stay or even overnight if necessary. We are willing to do pro bono for a short stay, we are just trying to help. We know that the situation is tragic and also slowly evolving and unfolding and probably will be for several more days. By now, everyone has probably seen horrific posts of elderly sitting and standing in waist deep water. We are here to help! We're Texans and that is what we do. Simply, reach out to us and we will help anyway we can. David 512-940-5340 or Kari 512-748-5707. Thank you. God bless Texas.

We have openings! Since our capacity increase we have a few beds available; male or female, private or semi-private. We offer exceptional care in a quiet home like environment. Our food is delicious home cooked meals, our care to our residents is great and we do the same hands on nursing care that you would find at a big box nursing home facility. Feel free to come by for a tour, or just call me, 512-940-5340.

I am proud to announce that our request to increase the capacity of our number of beds has been approved by the State. We now have capacity for eight, increased from 7. Thanks to my staff for chipping in during our DADS visit, always a stressful time.

We do a lot of hospice service at Lou's House. We have a passion for end of life care and palliative care being done the way it should be done. The tenets of palliative care are the same everywhere. If it feels good, do it. If it causes pain or distress or even emotional or spiritual discomfort, stop. Hospice is about acceptance. Acceptance that life, all life, eventually ends. Acceptance that, in the end, all the things and honors that we spent a life time chasing become meaningless and all we want is comfort and someone to hold our hand and say that we are loved. Hospice is a celebration of life, the miracle of life and the individual expression each person brings to it. We strive with each resident on hospice services to bring quality to their end of life care.

What makes us different? Good question. We are a Assisted Living. But unlike most "assisted living", we do a lot of assisting. Most Assisted Living facilities the list of things that they do not do is way longer than the things that they do. We do full on, hands on Nursing Care. Diabetic injections (including sliding scale), wound care, transfers, mechanical transfers, altered texture diets, oxygen, medication management, injections, catheter care, ostomy care. I am a Nurse, we constantly evaluate and constantly change the plan of care accordingly. We only hire Certified Nurse Aides with at least two years experience. We basically do all the nursing care that you would find in large, skilled Nursing facility but in the comfort of a very large house that is anything but institutional. We keep records and documentation just like a large facility. We also do not have a tiered or "level of care" system, care is care, we do not nickel and dime the resident's family. Give me a call if you would like to know more, David 512-940-5340 (cell)

A few recent visits to our business page. So, I thought I would explain a little about what we do and how we are different. We provide 24 hour residential elderly care. Our home is exactly that, a home. 3500 square feet of home with house dog and a house bunny for companionship. We are an assisted living, but, unlike most assisted livings we provide hands on Nursing Care. We pretty much do it all: medication administration, oxygen, wound care, diabetic management, catheters. Pretty much all Nursing Care. We have a very quiet home like environment. All staff are Certified Nurse Aides with a least a couple years experience. Call my cell phone at any time if you have questions or would be interested in touring. 512-940-5340
