🌊Water has always shaped our stories—our histories, our cultures, our imaginations.

This season, the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble invites you to experience Waters of the World, a powerful musical journey across rivers and seas. From the shifting moods of nature and the cautionary voice of environmental tragedy, to joyful dance, maritime heritage, and the magic of storytelling, this program spans three continents and more than a century of music.

We begin rehearsals tonight, and there’s still room for musicians who are ready to reconnect with their instrument and with community.

Want to know a fun fact about our group?
We have a few small ensembles that meet just before rehearsal. 🎶
The Violet Crown Flute Choir 🪈 was created over 10 years ago and plays gigs all over Austin. From a bass flute all the way to piccolo, the members of this choir come together to bring beautiful music to Austin ranging in skill level.
The Cosmic Clarinets 🎵 have made a stamp on everyone's hearts with their beautiful melodies and familiar tunes. They enjoy venturing into movie scores, fun energetic pieces, and building their skill level through mastery.

Yesterday for Giving Tuesday, we asked our members to donate pantry items to the Covenant United Methodist Church - Austin, TX food pantry. We were able to fill a shopping cart and even had extra!

Our hearts are filled with all of the support yesterday through the fundraiser and the opportunity to pour back into our community.

It's officially Giving Tuesday! ❤️

ACWE is raising money for our next concert venue. We are looking forward to a wonderful spring season filled with exciting music. Our biggest obstacle is that we are a large band. Yes, we know we are! 🥰 We continue to encourage players from the area to improve their skills and invite them to play with us. However, finding venues is a challenge, but we are determined to continue bringing music to our audience.

🎺 It's about that time to do a little dusting off those horns and all that beautiful percussion equipment!! 🥁 We will be in full-swing again rehearsing for our fall concert season. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings, and we begin this Tuesday, August 26th, 7:30PM-9:30PM at Covenant United Methodist Church in north Austin.

We look forward to seeing many returning musicians as well as many new faces! If you've been meaning to pick up your instrument for a number of years, this is a calling to you and a great opportunity to come play again. 🎷 See you there, it's gonna be a fun and only slightly "absurd" season!😄🎶
