Shout out to Jacqui Casarez who led Community Herbalism yesterday with wisdom and care. The group harvested and processed Tulsi and Passionflower while enjoying herbal spritzers adorned with herbs and the vibes look pretty elevated and chill to me!

Jacqui is completing the community herbalism apprenticeship along with 6 others and we have had a special year journeying together. It’s an answered prayer for me to know that these gatherings can happen whether in our out of town - 🥹. Keep an eye out for our newsletter (yes that an email folks) where I will be sharing next year’s apprenticeship very soon. We have 2 more Community Herbalism Days before summer break - RSVP through the link in bio. Kids and babes welcome and bring a friend!

I was asked what lights me up right now by .grow this morning. This is my answer - this precious time with y’all and this community herbalism apprenticeship.
Slowing down enough to be with all of it, witnessing and being witnessed, simple seasonal facilitation. It feels like a specific remedy for these times.
🌹🌸🌹🌸
This week we are all about Pink Evening Primrose and Rose around here and I could not be more grateful for these potent plant allies.
🌹🌸
Rose - aromatic, sexy, heart opening, deeply relaxing + evoking strong boundaries and easy access to discernment. Pink Evening Primrose aka Oenothera speciosa - Acrid, sweet, touch of bitter, envokes a deep breath, diffuses body buzz anxiety, relaxes us from stem to stern.
🌹🌸🌹🌸
We have harvested and processed these beauties every day this week while watching birds mow the mulberries sharing feedback and reflections for the week. Sitting under the shade of the tree outside of the yurt and all the smells in the apothecary. It was a good question. What lights you up right now? …(anger and rage are welcome)

These winter Roses and Calendula have me reflecting on the full spectrum experience that was 2024 and that Community Herbalism Days are soul food. I witnessed new friendships blossom, nervous systems co-regulate, y’alls confidence with herbs grow and so many magical moments unfold during our time together.
🫶🏻
The apothecary is officially a reflection of Community Herbalism Days. The jars are full of lovingly of beautiful herbs thanks to you all. Many of these same jars are empty thanks to you all utilizing our community apothecary so thoroughly. Our tincture blends are a reflection of the food forest and the many herbs that offer themselves to us each season. And I can’t keep Oxymels on the shelves. . . because we all love them. This evolution of space from a retail shop into a community apothecary is a highlight of last year for me. Thank you all for continuing to show up, bring friends and family and cultivate a sense of community resilience that I have dreamed of since my 20s. . . which was a while ago. hehe

Pic 2. Community Herbalism Apprenticeship started in October with 7 beautiful humans. We meet once a week, slowing down to journey with seasonal herbal remedies that grow here. This Spring they will bring their medicine and gifts to Community Herbalism Days.
🫶🏻
I want to thank all of you who have donated towards Community Herbalism Days. These subscriptions have supported us to share herbal remedies freely during our time together. When you donate or purchase a Community Herbalism Seasonal Box, a part of the proceeds go to our non-profit school helping to tend permaculture aspects of our school. The stewardship and guardianship of this learning center is held by many hands and hearts. Thank you all for holding it with us.
Community Herbalism Days for all of Spring 2025. Please RSVP. You do not need to donate to participate or participate to donate.

May we all receive the rest we need this Winter season and I look forward to all that springs forth and blooms come Spring.
Big Love, Caroline

Thank you thank you thank you - Our 4th Winter Solstice Market was a BIG success on all levels. We experienced a full spectrum of weather - how about that rainbow?!?? Next year I’ll make 10 gallons of soup - 5 gallons went fast! Hundreds of hugs shared, connecting with new friends and gOLD. I want to acknowledge our vendors for showing up fully with their beautiful offerings and all of you who came out to support us. I was giddy watching all of the brooms and herbal remedies go out into the world. May this coming season bring the exact medicine we need and may we continue to find folks to share our medicine with. The world needs it, we need it.
🌈🔥🎁🍵
Community Herbalism Days will resume in February- I’ll put a shout out when they are posted on our website. Until then - we rest, plant seeds and prayers for the coming seasons. Big love to you all and see you on the other side of my winter hibernation.

Our Story

Our little green yurt is a happy place full of plant medicine and other wares that our medicinal forest garden provides through out the year. We also partner with a few other members of community to offer their products. We first started cultivating our small farm space at our learning center in 2012. I quickly learned that I was more drawn to grow medicinals than annual edibles. First of all, growing vegetables is hard work! But more than that, the perennial medicinals seem to take on a life of their own in the gardens. Each year new plants came into my awareness, their uses coming at the perfect time to support myself or a loved one. I am beyond excited that the gardens are robust enough to support a wider audience! Students of all ages have had their hands in the creation of this space with me over the years, planting, tending, harvesting and creating nourishing plant medicines. You know who you are. These plants have grow for us to learn from and use. 7 Feathers is hosted inside green yurt on the school grounds. All sales happen through our website and you can pick up your orders on Wednesdays or contact me and we can set something up. This project will grow with the seasons as we all do. I am humbled and excited to share the garden's bounty with you all. Come visit and let's share a cup of tea. ~~~Caroline
