As we approach the end of the year, we want to celebrate our surgeons. They have once again been nominated and recognized as Super Doctors® and Rising Stars for 2025, placing them among the top doctors in Texas.

The Super Doctors Selection Process:
The Super Doctors selection process is a thorough, multi-phase approach aimed at identifying healthcare providers who have achieved significant peer recognition and professional success. This exclusive yet diverse list showcases exceptional doctors.
Super Doctors evaluate candidates on 10 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement
• Years of experience
• Hospital appointments
• Fellowships
• Professional activities
• Leadership roles
• Academic achievements and positions
• Board certifications
• Publications, lectures, and presentations
• Honors and awards
• Other exceptional achievements
The final step involves calculating the total points earned from nominations, research, and a blue-ribbon panel review. Only the top-scoring physicians are featured on the Super Doctors list, which represents approximately 5% of the doctors within the specific state or region.

The Selection Process for Super Doctors Rising Stars:
The procedure for selecting Rising Stars is similar to that of Super Doctors, with a few key differences:
To qualify as a Rising Star, candidates must be actively practicing and fully licensed for around 10 years or less.
A nominee's achievements do not take years of experience into account.
While roughly 5 percent of doctors in a given state or region are recognized as Super Doctors, no more than 2.5 percent are honored as Rising Stars.
